Speaking to KM at Stevenage station

Have you just started following Utd or have you airbrushed from history the last 2 years of chasing promotion ?

You mean our last two failed attempts at getting promoted ?. Chasing promotion and actually getting promoted are two different matters. If you want to believe that a side led by Doyle will lead us to the promised land then good luck with that one. One or two decent results under Nigel and we're suddenly world beaters again. Doyle is a limited footballer with a half decent left peg, but a poor captain as acknowledged by a lot of blades fans.

After the usual dash for the 17:24, we made it a little more comfortably this year, and saw Kevin waiting for the train also. Seeing our shirts, he wandered over of his own accord, and talked quite candidly with us for about 10 minutes.

Deals in place apparently for Westlake and Whitehouse to stay where they are until the end of the season. Also sounds like Murphy, Taylor, King and Florent could be on their way. Me Dads a Doyle fan, and when he mentioned this to KM, he said that Doyle was the undoubted unsung hero in the team, and a great captain.

He was more confident on outs than ins (seemed Nigel had given him a list), and that it would be a case of one player in for every two out, but priority was streamlining.

In terms of ins, Alan Judge is apparently nearly done, with NC also interested in Bennett and Russell from Derby, and Beresford from Cardiff. McCabe seemed a lot more unsure on the ins, I guess it's a case of seeing what happens with outs first.

Oh, and Lappin is due to head back apparently.

I also got a slap round the back of the head from him when I took the mickey out of his ancient phone. He was in Standard class back (man of the people!) to Doncaster, so don't know if others saw him.

Overall, confirmed that they think exceptionally highly of Clough, and the next 2 games should be good if we play like we did today (and quite right too).

UTB, and Foxy etc. feel free to edit if it's too detailed transfer wise.

I have heard very similar info, including Brandy going but not Taylor or Florent ( I hope not these two as they haven't been given a proper chance yet), from someone who was in the director's box on Saturday. We shall wait and see.

He may be candid and open but how much of what he says is true? He has a history of bullshitting and after all these years some of you are still apt to believe the bollocks that he spouts.

I think keeping our club alive entitles him to spout bollocks now and then. He's been searching the globe for new investment to help him out for years and I'm delighted for him, as well as us, that it's arrived. I don't think cynics will see the true significance of HRH for a couple of years and, even then, they'll still not be satisfied.

He's made major mistakes but he's a good man and a true Blade. Sorry if that doesn't fit the party line, but then again the party line is bollocks.

Just proves how out of touch KM is if he thinks Doyle is a great captain and a unsung hero of the team

With regards to Cuvelier and Taylor, i would not be happy to see these players sold... But i do think at the current time a couple of months out on loan could do them and us some good.

It is not generally known that Kev has a twin brother who goes around winding up the fans.

Someone should write a song...

I'm sittin' in the railway station
Got a ticket for my destination
On a tour of one night stands
My suitcase and guitar in hand
And every stop is neatly planned
For a poet and a one man band

Homeward bound
I wish I was
Homeward bound
Home, where my thought's escaping
Home, where my music's playing
Home, where my love lies waiting
Silently for me

Yet respected by senior personnel at the club for the last 3-4 years. Managers, chairmen, owner and coaches

When I read Clough's comments did didn't sound like an overly ringing endorsement:

But the former Derby County chief said: “There seems to be an anti Michael Doyle feeling among a few people at the moment.

“I’ve seen nothing to suggest that he’s not the best captain we have got.

I don't think a single person would really disagree with that. Of a quiet and inexperienced bunch, Doyle is the best option - as he was last year too. That's completely different to him being the effective leader on the pitch that this team needs. There are a number of starters at the minute who are in the team because we've no better options - I fully expect Clough to look at improving these areas too.

I saw kev in le chambre last week he said much the same to me as I was smashing his wife's back doors in
That was you? Nice Gimp outfit mate. Just wow.

You need someone to bring you up to date. Why does your dog look as though it has just been startled out of having a shit?

Nice one Pinchy.

Genuine contender for for post of the year

Maybe its you who is out of touch eh?
We are in the 3rd tier for 3 seasons in a row under his captaincy. Doyle said last year that not getting promotion isnt an underachievement and I couldnt believe it when he said that. I hate it when someone says things to belittle our club and it is even worse coming from our captain. He will never ever lead us back into the 2nd tier. As a Blade fan having seen us play in the top tier for 10 seasons, 26 seasons in the 2nd tier and since we had Doyle the number of seasons in thee lower tier has increased from 5 to 8 and it will go on increasing unless we eventually get an inspirational captain who can hurt the opposition

as a blade who has been going about the same time i can say hand on heart doyle is shite, never accept average

On way home tonight just caught back end of sports news on radio Sheffield
said we will have several loan players coming in on 1st January.
So deals must be already done.

He spoke very highly of him in the RS phone in. He actually got quite angry he'd been criticised and said he was the one player he could trust (this was a few weeks ago).

He must be cheap then ;)

Yes Swiss respected by those people. Unfortunately they don't have to pay to watch them. Listen Doyle I am sure gives his all for the cause but there is no getting away from the fact that he is limited and a shite captain.

I think the chairman has paid several tens of millions of pounds to watch him over the last few seasons!

Of topic OB , will you be going to see your team take on them Munster fuckers , hope you grind them into the ground , kick in corner maul over shite rugby fookers , come on Leinster . You are a fan of Gloucester I assumed ?

I'll be amazed if he's still captain in a year's time. Clough's obviously not going to publicly criticise him (and, as we all agree, there isn't a better candidate in the squad to lead the team at the minute), but if he hasn't identified it as an area in need of improvement (perhaps admittedly top of the list of priorities) I'll be surprised and disappointed.

Well if he bought a membership and transferred to the Kop he could pay as little as £18 per game.

Not really a fan, but I do take a passing interest in them. It's quite a good day out when there's nothing Blades related to watch., and Gloucester are just about the nearest you'll get to a football crowd at a rugby match.

Be a good day out as they normally take thousands away , and are very colourful , and good natured , just like us blades ? Though when they start singing about athenry bugs the bejesus out of me , as its in Galway which is in Connaught , not Munster , Blades v notts county that w - end , by the way nice photo of Billy Gillespie . UTB .

The Party Line???? What on earth are you talking about. Simply because someone doesn't agree that the sun shines out of McCabes arse you have to make silly accusations of some kind of ulterior motive that fellow Blades, I assume you are a Blade, may have.

I don't think cynics will see the true significance of HRH for a couple of years and, even then, they'll still not be satisfied.

There you go again, making ridiculous accusations that long suffering fans take some kind of delight in our current plight and hope that it doesn't improve. Complete twaddle, and if you honestly and truly believe that then you really aren't fit to have a discussion with.
