After the usual dash for the 17:24, we made it a little more comfortably this year, and saw Kevin waiting for the train also. Seeing our shirts, he wandered over of his own accord, and talked quite candidly with us for about 10 minutes.

Deals in place apparently for Westlake and Whitehouse to stay where they are until the end of the season. Also sounds like Murphy, Taylor, King and Florent could be on their way. Me Dads a Doyle fan, and when he mentioned this to KM, he said that Doyle was the undoubted unsung hero in the team, and a great captain.

He was more confident on outs than ins (seemed Nigel had given him a list), and that it would be a case of one player in for every two out, but priority was streamlining.

In terms of ins, Alan Judge is apparently nearly done, with NC also interested in Bennett and Russell from Derby, and Beresford from Cardiff. McCabe seemed a lot more unsure on the ins, I guess it's a case of seeing what happens with outs first.

Oh, and Lappin is due to head back apparently.

I also got a slap round the back of the head from him when I took the mickey out of his ancient phone. He was in Standard class back (man of the people!) to Doncaster, so don't know if others saw him.

Overall, confirmed that they think exceptionally highly of Clough, and the next 2 games should be good if we play like we did today (and quite right too).

UTB, and Foxy etc. feel free to edit if it's too detailed transfer wise.

The older the mobile phone the more likely it probably is to work as a phone.

Most people take these posts with a pinch of salt, from past experience.

I don't suppose you asked him about NCs coaching badges for the Prem did you?

Alan Judge is a fantastic player. Little mardy and petulant but a great signing if true.

Is he not getting games at Blackburn?

Beresford, do you mean Brayford ???

Yep. Apologies.

I also think Judge would be good. Absolute little shit, but very decent at this level. Will definitely add to the squad.

As an addition, he hinted Brandy may not be here too much longer.

I'm perfectly happy for Clough to pick the incoming players but can we please pick the outgoing couples ?

I can think of at least 10 we should get rid of.

Did you find it a bit bizarre that a Chairman would approach a group of fans on a train platform and talk candidly about transfer activity before it's happened? Or have you got another surname instead of 'blademan' :)

KM always seems to talk with fans this way when 1 to 1. It's not out of the ordinary.

I wanted Judge in the Summer so that'd be fantastic! It seems very unlikely to me we'll get him but then I thought there was no chance we'd get Baxter.

Oh dear, Doyle unsung hero & great captain, really ?. Whilst ever we have this man and the like we can look forward to relegation battles and mid table finishes if we are lucky. We will not progress till people like him are gone. Lets not get carried away with a few decent results of late, we need better than him.

Another member of the McCabe family told me we were trying to sign Judge on the last deadline day. He seemed quite confident we would get him eventually. Apparently on 9k per week for bench warming.

Have you just started following Utd or have you airbrushed from history the last 2 years of chasing promotion ?

While I don't join the ever-burgeoning gang of supporters who can't stand Doyle, (Including the lad who sits next to me in the Kop, bemoaning each and every failed pass, mistimed tackle and the like) he does seem to be irreplaceable. Exactly what he does in terms of rallying the troops and communicating on the pitch is something we will never fully know, but his playing quality can be average at times. He needs to be rested and other, younger players be given the chance to have a go. We shouldn't be scared of dropping him, just 'cos he's captain.

Alan Judge would be a fantastic signing. Top player in the third tier.

The other ones would all improve us massively as well.

I can confirm all of the above. I was in Poundland on the Moor earlier today, waiting for the wife to be served and saw Kev a few feet away, waiting for his missus who was laden down with about 5 baskets (rich bastards). He noticed my Blades bobble hat, came over and basically repeated everything in billybladesman's message.

Alan Judge is shite.

He scored about 15 goals in 100 appearances for Notts County. That's about the same strike rate as Porter.

I've heard similar from guys who've met McCabe in la Manga. Talks very candidly and is open on his thoughts... Some not always positive about the players we've had in the past.

Again, he's a fan and a Blade.

Taylor came up when I met Winter in Nov. It was suggested that he would need a season before we saw the best out of him.

I can see a few going out on loan rather than permanent moves. We've got too many players so need to shift a few to make room on the training pitch!

He may be candid and open but how much of what he says is true? He has a history of bullshitting and after all these years some of you are still apt to believe the bollocks that he spouts.
