Souttar and Souza. Of all the bloody players to lose, it had to be those two.
Absolutely integral to everything and irreplaceable.

If Souttar is going to be out for a few months, I wonder what our options are with calling the loan off? If possible, we'd need to free up his spot.. we can't wait for him, sadly.

It was inevitable we'd lose at home eventually, but the manner and injuries have made today a really bad one.
Vital we bounce back in a few days.

If you are aiming that one at me,it’s my job and that’s what Souttars looked like from where I was, hopefully it’s not a fracture. Souza, hard to tell without a scan. I deal with footballers regularly and half the time the managers don’t really tell you what the exact problem/timescale is. Signed Quincy M.D

I have no medical trading but based on experience wondered if it was damaged ankle ligaments.

It appeared so,with ligament damage weight bearing can automatically become impossible, a scan will determine. I’ve also seen sportspeople with a sprained ankle which can take longer than even ruptured ankle ligaments, they can be a real problem, again depending on severity. As said,it’s the severity of the grade of injury. It didn’t look good. Fingers crossed for him.

It was aimed at anyone who decided what the injury was and how long he’d be out based on how he limped off the pitch.

Hamstring injury is normally 1 month to 3 months depending on grade injury. Can be longer if there are complications, but that usually happens with sprinters.
And it looked like it properly went, so possibly worst case scenario. But there's no way of actually knowing how long he'll be out, obviously.

Yorkshire post saying it was his ankle. Hopefully just a sprain and nothing more.

He couldn’t bare weight on it so it’s unlikely to be a hamstring. I’ve done mine a few times hurts like hell but normally can bare some weight. He seemed petrified for it to touch the floor.

Usually it’s Achilles injury when they are like that.

Did anyone see what actually happened to Souttar? I just saw him on the floor but not the incident that led to it.

The interviewer to Wilder never asked what he'd actually done so we're all guessing.

Made a tackle / pass, then went down but looked around like he had been kicked.

That’s why I’m surmising an Achilles injury.

I played with a lad running down the wing and he swears to this day someone two footed his ankle. He went down looking behind him no one within 5 yards.

I did my hamstring once. I was rolling around on the floor shrieking and crying. I reckon Souttar is a bit more resilient!

I was like that when I did my groin my last big injury. Never was the same after that.
Mine was fine about 2 months later. Hobbled around for most of them. I'll never forget feeling the pop. My own fault for not warming up on a day when it was freezing cold.

To join in the fully qualified diagnoses…. I’ve played in two games in which someone ruptured their Achilles tendon. Both could just about walk afterwards and drive themselves home. Only to end up having surgery and 6 months out.

Also makes an alarming thwacking sound as it goes. 😕

That was no way a fracture.
You don’t know until a scan,I’ve just seen someone who had a scan and diagnosed as ligament damage,he went back a week later because of the swelling and they found a hairline fracture of the fibula.

Hopefully Leeds and Burnley start to wrack up their own fair share of injuries.

Whilst I don’t especially want players injured, it seems we are monopolising this particular stat.

What’s that now? Both centre backs? Both first choice midfielders and both main strikers? Not to mention quite a few such as Seriki, JRS, Gilchrist, Davies, Brewster have all missed games.

Just going off what I saw. I’ve seen the exact same injury on a good friend of mine. Just a lot of similarities. HS just looked so scared to put his foot on the floor. He was in pain from the vibration of him walking could see each step looked painful.

As we know a hairline fracture is much better than a serious Achilles injuries. I hope you’re right but fear I am.

He was very distressed, hoping it’s the best scenario for him.

Burnley have lots of injuries, Ramsey , Sarmiento, Beyor , Benson and Tresor. That was Fosters first game back for a while. All very good players too all would be in and around their first team.

People forget they went up and broke the bank, there team can handle 5/6 injuries and still leave Koleosho (who was linked to Bayern Munich at the start of the season) as an unused substitute.

Burnley even with those injuries didn’t have one youth team player on the bench.

Leeds have a big squad they have 4 injuries to what you would call first team players. They don’t have a single youth team player on the bench.

There's an irony to the fact Burnley bring on John Egan to strengthen their defence and a couple of minutes later we lose our main centre back.

3 games out of the last 5 against Burnley we've been unable to finish the game with 11 players.
