Think photo was taken in 1969 as it was Jimmy Binks's last season and Geoff Boycott started wearing contact lenses. Fred Trueman and Ray Illingworth had their last season in 1968.

Reading Mr Rhodes, batting and bowling figures many years ago, I would venture, he was the best pro cricketer of all time.

I have this niche theory that the actual best cricketer of all time is ... Jacques Kallis.

Admittedly I am perhaps unique in this view.

All my school days was either missing or placeing "e's" on the ends or in the wrong place in words.
Despite getting better as life moved on, seems I'm in regression.

That is right, it irritates me when people spell my surname as "Sharp" despite that my great grandfather was born as William Sharp in 1861. He had an "e" added to his surname around 1900 (after he was married) and so did three of his six brothers

If done as a genuine mistake, realise we are all fallible at some time, everyone.

South African. 13289 (3rd all time) runs at 55.4 (18th), 45 100s (2nd). 292 (41st) wickets at 32.7 (too far down to count) in tests and for good measure 200 catches (3rd).

This won't mean much unless you lived in S2 at the time. This is Geoff Cooke and his wife who ran the fishmonger's on London Rd (junction of Woodhead Rd). He was always smiling, joking around, juggling eggs (!), a real nice character.
