Good point this tbf ...
It really isn’t all that great. At all. They sing their marching on together song, wave their scarves about then go quiet until they score. Then sing songs about how they hate Manchester United (a completely unreciprocated rivalry). Shite.Leeds is a great atmosphere.
Millwall's home atmosphere is far better than ours.Clearly the sniffer dogs did their job and we were missing our hardcpre cokeheads.
Next home game, everyone needs to bring their favourite sherbet dib dab with them and the atmosphere will be electric.
In all seriousness, I wasn't there so can't comment but considering it seemed we had more away fans at Millwall than they had home fans, we can't be that bad an atmosphere compared to some?!
I've been hearing this for 10 years now. The Lane has been dead for a decade including when we were romping leagues and playing teams off the park.Let's be honest...that was not a vintage performance. We did not play particularly well, we won through a moment of quality from Hamer and a penalty that was so stonewall even David Coote coked up to his eyeballs couldn't have not given it.
Atmosphere is a 2-way thing. Give us something to shout about and we will shout. Play a turgid, defensive, timid game against a team we should be battering and it's a bit much to expect a cauldron-like atmosphere. There's a reason that a big, controversial decision gets the crowd going. A flat game, with little to get excited about, is not going to do it.
We took 1300 to millwall, almost everyone top of the league would take that amount and millwalls atmosphere is 20x better than ours, not even an argument.Clearly the sniffer dogs did their job and we were missing our hardcpre cokeheads.

Bang on. It gets worse year after year, imagine if we were struggling.I've been hearing this for 10 years now. The Lane has been dead for a decade including when we were romping leagues and playing teams off the park.
It's actually painful it's so quiet.
Not my experience to be honest, out of interest where in the ground do you sit ?I've been hearing this for 10 years now. The Lane has been dead for a decade including when we were romping leagues and playing teams off the park.

I worry about what opinions you have if venting them could lose you your season ticket! The atmosphere was poor yesterday and has been for lots of games. It shouldn't be, but it is. We are not on our own though, the majority of grounds are like this.
I think it's a combination of all seat stadiums, season ticket proliferation, CCTV and social media. It's easier to sit quietly and clap, than vent an opinion and run the risk of being filmed and then losing your ST.
Most grounds have become the same, we are spectators now, not a crowd anymore.
I'd agree with this. Id also add that I think with the proliferation of football on the TV, the way people actively watch (or not) has changed, it's become much more of a passive thing now, observing from a distance rather than actively getting involvedThe atmosphere was poor yesterday and has been for lots of games. It shouldn't be, but it is. We are not on our own though, the majority of grounds are like this.

I think the difference is that more vocal fans are concentrated away from home with the less vocal being sucked into the atmosphere and joining in - whereas at home the 1000 plus are dispersed around the ground - often surrounded by fans who can't even join in with GCB - or talk through it like the bloke who sits near me.Something I often find interesting though is away from home we have likely the same 1,000 plus who created good atmospheres up and down the country. Do some of them not bother at the lane?
It is only Plymouth, but I spoke to a few after the match who go away a lot. They commented on it being poor, and obviously that's in comparison to other teams who are playing Plymouth. It’s Plymouth at home, a match that everyone at the Lane expected us to win, including the Plymouth fans.
As we didn’t manage to put in an entertaining performance, the atmosphere was always going to be crap. That’s just how football is!
Atmosphere at lane stopped with Covid. It was a tough place to come with the atmosphere. Covid hit and it’s just never recovered. Our atmosphere is awful and one of the worst in the league. Oxford at home was a particularly bad game. We scored everyone stood and clapped like we were Fulham supporters.
No different to yesterday.Agree but also think last season damaged the club more than people think.
Towards the end of last season, the gallows humour around me on the Kop was in full flow, before, during and after each home match.
Last season was totally soul destroying and quite often I questioned why I was there.
A few of us, even considered not renewing our season tickets but then decided the match day prices were so high
it made buying a season ticket a no brainer, so we all renewed.
Oxford worst I've seen in a league game for a long long time, yesterday was a slight upgrade on it.No different to yesterday.
Moore had penalty the whole stadium was very negative. A penalty to seal the win and the atmosphere before it was the worst I’ve seen.
