Have to admit this bloke is growing on me. Have a read of his tweets from time to time and for an American he's giving it a proper go at being a blade. Look at some of is replies, he's even trying to reply in Sheffield lingo these days and looks to have dropped most of his americanisms.

The best bit is Yesterday he was up with the rest of the board in the directors area but wanted to come round and sit in the away end with us lot but the security down there wouldn't let him. He's been in the stands a couple of times now and loves it!

Love his comments about how the away end outsung the other three sides of the ground!

Jim Phipps honorary 100% Blade!

I think a lot of us (including me) have over the years lost sight of the fact that supporting your club is meant to be fun.

This is a new venture and most likely a new sport for Jim. He strikes me as a people person and he's enjoying the ride.

When all said and done, it's not his money although it is his job.

I hope he continues to enjoy it and plays a part in turning the club round.

The more 3 point outcomes the better

Jim Phipps is Jules Wingfield

Jim is doing a very good job in my opinion. Since Derek Dooley sadly passed away the blades supporters have had no conduit to the board. I know we've had liaison officers, but I would question the actual amount if meaningful liaison that took place.

I don't know how much influence he has or not, but it is good to feel that someone on the board truly understands the importance of supporters and actually wants to have the same experiences.

So carry on Jim, you are winning hearts and minds amongst the best supporters in the footy world.

Or you could see it another way. He just spins what you want to hear. Only way we will truly know is in January when the transfer window opens.

Yes I like his tweets, especially "We have a plan!" tweet.

And they say football fans are easily pleased?

Feel sorry for the guy , the misery arses who support this side will be blaming him for everything from the titanic sinking to the jfk assassination in a year .I see bladesway is making early inroads into the I was first to slag him off stakes

Who is blaming him for what?

If he's enjoying it now, just imagine what he'll be like if we get to the heady heights of mid-table!

Lets hope we get there before the January transfer window then.... because if we don't sign Bale, Messi and Ronaldo in January as well as building a time machine to take Tony Currie back to his best form then it'll be shoes off for many on here :)

But sometimes its OK to be optimistic.

Why look on the bright side eh, when there is clearly a dark side, its the Blades way

A bloke comes out and says a few nice things and the fans want to spank his monkey. 40 plus years of watching shit unfurl and unravel at SUFC HQ makes me realise that positive spin is rarely followed by positive action.

Here are a couple more for everyone to add to the love in.

"Go Blades, we are great"
"Best fans in the world"
"The plan has the green light"
"We deserve the best"

See, I can make shit up and I am a grade a miserable sod.

He doesn't have to get involved as much as he does though does he? He's a member of the board and an advisor to HRH the prince.

He could take a McCabe like role and spend his time away from the club. Ok he's the eyes and ears apparently for our new owners but he could do this from the boardroom or even from his office he has the tools to be able to do so but not only does he want to attend games but he wants to get in and around the fans and be part of it all.

A publicity stunt would be to do it once and make everyone think hes ace and then thats it but he admits himself he's got a real taste for it now and wants to be in the stands with the fans supporting the team and having a laugh and a sing song with the lads. Can't fault him for that......

Somebody also asked whether he had a PA to answer all his twitter action and he supposedly replied no and that he does it all himself. Id this is true then he spends hours a day or so answering and replying to blades fans.

We want transparency and somebody on the inside as the eyes and ears of us the paying fans. He is open to comments and says anything of substance he will present to the board. You can't ask for more than that.

Let him continue to get in amongst us and let him see things from our eyes the paying fans. I know that financially fans account for very little these days however still without fans you don't have a club and whoever owns United needs to know this.

Peakers, sounds more like you want to convince yourself than me.

One can only imagine what he'd have been like, (had he been allowed to sit with the Blades), when we scored.

I would hope that he'd have gone fuckin crackers like the rest of us.

By the way, how funny was that song "We're winning away, how shit must you be, we're winning away" ?

One of our team at work is an O's fan and said to me this morning that all their fans round him were pissing themselves at that and remarked on how good the support was.

Nice one ;)
