Can someone explain this tactic of full back takes goal kick, puts keeper under pressure who then usually ends up giving the ball away and putting us under the cosh again?

Dreadful penalty by their lad - only way Cooper wasn't saving that was if he dived the other way.

Got a lifeline with their red, then Harry decides to be a complete prat and we're in even bigger trouble. We only have 3 centre backs, and 2 of them are now suspended. I'd want Seriki to come on and shift Gilchrist to RCB - RND and JLT as a CB partnership sounds horrifying.

Go to a 441 - sub Peck off, move Hamer next to Vini, and have O'Hare and JRS out wide to support Campbell

Last 15 mins was all Sunderland and they'd have deserved to go in 1-0 up. Peck has had zero influence in that half on and off the ball, and there has been too many back passes when players were heading into advanced positions. I've lost count how many times we've played Burrows and Rak-Sayki into advanced positions, then they've both stopped pushing forward under no pressure and passed backwards. This is Southgate football.

Sunderlands sending off was the fault of O'Nein playing a suicidal ball across the back. This is why he is playing in the FL and not the PL.

the sending off would have done it for us if you hadn't been down to 10 men as well now.

SAFC has had most of the half, should be leading but as always when you dont take your chances a sucker punch isn't far away. Young Watson is playing his best game yet for us but Roberts will come off in the second half for Mayenda because and yet again he has been crap.

BTW I would bet a pound to a penny that if Sheffield United had been given a penalty at the SOL. - you wouldn't have missed.
