Hi Blades, today we broadcast our big Sheffield Derby preview show. Our guests included Chris Basham, Neil Warnock & Mark Duffy (and from the blue side, Lee Bullen, Chris Waddle and Brian Laws).

We'd really love you to check it out -- I think you'll enjoy it even though it's a mix of guests representing the two teams.

PLUS -- you can watch the show for the first time on the Iplayer! We'd really appreciate it if you would check it out:

Catch up on iPlayer - http://bbc.in/3YTBmpl

Listen back on BBC Sounds - http://bbc.in/4ekoIV9

Thank you!

Not a bad listen but you can tell bullen is a dye in the wool pig, he just about managed to keep it together 🤣

Is it the usual pro-wednesday sleeping giant fest?

I'd have much rather Dave Bassett or Carl Asaba for example taking the place of Warnock solely on the basis that Warnock is no Blade as far as I'm concerned but he's good value for the media I totally get that.

Warnock wanted the Wednesday job for starters!

I'll listen to it now though, I'm sure it will be great, Radio Sheffield offer great coverage of our patch in my view.

Good stuff. Well balanced, great choice of Blades contributors (surely Bash, Bounce Slayer and Warnock are three of the best you would want, although you’re never going to please everyone). I assume that lot thought their’s were good as well. We win though 😊.

Good level of genuine rivalry and ‘bantz’ without getting daft (or as nasty) as fans sometimes can.

Nowt about (inflated) attendances though… might upset a few.

Just listened to Warnock, he's good value, I'll give him that. But can't stand the man now! Its sad that I feel that way to a guy I used to think was brilliant. He mentions almost taking the Wednesday job actually in his interview.

Warnocks last comment I recall in reference to United was when he was in charge of Huddersfield just after they beat Boro and was saying "We've just beaten Boro but I've just told Michael Carrick we've still got to play Sheffield United and we'll do our best to cause an upset".

He didn't even need to say that, but that's Warnock, not a Blade for me but a good value on the after dinner circuit.

How did you get Jimmy Ramble to come out from behind his paywall?

Joking apart I’m saddened because Jonny G was the main go to from the likes of BBC and Sky, therefore I still expect him to pop up pre Derby. R.I.P bud, still hasn’t completely sunk in with me yet.

Neil Warnock is only a fan of Neil Warnock

Colins never been a blade! He's a Colin fan, can't fucking stand the twat.

He did better than well. Under Warnock we now have fans we would never have got.
Our fan base grew during those seasons.
That's true. But the fact I'm playing down his achievements is because I just dont like what he's done and said on United since he's left. He did brilliantly but he got backed well in the promotion season it has to be said with Akinbiyi, Ifill and Horsfield. He did well with Brown, Kabba, Webber etc.

The following season he signed a few more and not many came off but it's difficult as a promoted team to sign players good enough on a budget as we were. Hulse was great.

His insistence of blaming refs after every defeat became tiresome and criticizing the fans because he didn't get the full backing at times from the fans which he said was because he was a fan, no Neil, it's because you annoy fans with how you are, including our fans! The criticism of the refs being one of the main examples. That and flirting with the Portsmouth job for weeks in the promotion season.

Chris Wilder’s pre match interview here for you blades…

I get it. He’s a complete prick (although I do like characters in football and he’s definitely one). But I don’t think we should let that diminish what he did here. He took over from Adrian Heath (I think?) when we were complete garbage and very much at risk of going in the opposite direction. Parachute payments aren’t what they are today but, still, to go up without them even back then was a great achievement. Then to nearly keep us up is underrated - yes we played horrible football but just look at our last two Prem relegations to see what could have been. And then finally the triple attack season gave us 2-3 of our best ever games at the lane, certainly in my lifetime.

He’s a wanker, and he’s nowhere near wilder or Bassett in my estimation. But he deserves credit for what he did.
