Won 50 headers, lost 32 this season.Playing the the lone striker roll is difficult, McBurnie did it last season he put the effort in.
Showing for the ball he touched it 9 times in the Middlesbrough game, got beat to the ball by the central defender who started behind him when our defender's cleared the ball.
He barely wins headers and his first touch is horrendous.
He got a goal today I'm not entirely sure he knew much about it but a goal is a goal, but he also missed a excellent chance with the header.
I still stand by my prediction that he'll not get into double figures this season.
Not having a striker who comfortably gets double figures is what is going to cost us this season.
Logged on to the BBC footy results and read the comments.
Burnley Blackburn WBA Watford and Swansea fans are all saying their forwards are not good enough. Could it be that this is a really hard league to play /score in
If that stat is correct then ok fair play.Won 50 headers, lost 32 this season.
He's struggled, especially in front of goal. His workrate being questioned is just odd. He leaves everything out on the pitch, he's just ill suited to what's being asked of him in the line CF role
He'll get 8+. He's the only CF we have at the club with any sort of pedigree or the ability to occupy defenders, consistently make good runs to free up space and be where he's supposed to be consistently. If he gets injured, we are in real troubleIf that stat is correct then ok fair play.
I still question his work rate especially against Leeds and Middlesbrough.
I'm also not convinced he would fair much better with someone playing along side of him, he just doesn't look like a natural finisher.
If that comment is directed at me then I can assure you I'm not fucking thick or suffer from self entitlement.Speaking for myself, I think it’s more that every football club has a section of fans who suffer from an expectation of entitlement, have very little football experience, and absolutely no management experience of any sort whatsoever.
Put more simply, they’re fucking thick…
That's why whoever the owners are we desperately need to get another Striker in January. He'll get 8+. Tom, whatever you're taking, return it to the pharmacy immediately. Not good enough though...
If we had any other manager we would be above Man City.

Can’t remember Billy playing the lone striker role, or McBurnie playing it that regularly when Wilder was here?McBurnie scored 1 goal for every 5.6 games.
Billy Sharp scored 109 goals in 282 appearances, yet was also deemed 'not good enough for us' by some.
Not by me they weren't.McBurnie scored 1 goal for every 5.6 games.

I have no idea, and don't really care about other clubs. How many clubs throughout the country are all saying the same ?
If your pharmacist told you that then change your pharmacy......immediately!My pharmacist told me that taking reality is not suitable for all, some suffer from contraindications.
Though some will reply that this is a small Sheffield mentality, and that we deserve to be at least as big as Man City.
Yep he did get it wrong. I think most managers do now and again. It’s almost like some people take great delight in us losing so that they can trot out the same old nonesense. ‘Wilder is shit, doesn’t know what he’s doing, watch him slink off out the back door.. etc etc etc’He got it totally wrong the last two matches, accept it. He got it right today so no complaints. We are doing alright, keep on the front foot and we are fine.
Sigh… ok, ok…(Pats head)No it's not.

Stopped reading when you said Moore is better than McBurnie.Moore is far better than McBurnie- so far Moore can be questioned about goals return - but effort you are barking up the wrong tree- him and O Hare are literally running themselves to a standstill. Both are getting poor performance scores- but their contribution to us being 4th cannot be questioned or value be underestimated . Their press is way way better than what we saw from McBurnie.

I rely on what I see with my own eyes, I very rarely criticise players, infact I stuck up for Anel and Vini last season and the beginning of this when the majority of our fans thick or otherwise were demanding we get rid.
if you think were bad you should have taken a peak on porktalk friday night for 45 minutes they were awful a disgrace to the club rohl wasnt the messiah and they were certs for relegation 1 hour later they were definetly going to make the play offsDon't you just Love some of our fan's,
even when we win, is every body HAPPY,
You can bet your life somebody will find something to moan about.,,,,
Now Look at me moaning about somebody moaning ...![]()
Didn't his team play Friday night??Come on crazyblade1889. Admit it, you enjoyed yesterday didn't you![]()
It was a VERY skilful touch. Well played Keiffer.Just because he stook his foot on to wayward shot does not make him a good striker
The main thing I saw from our attack today was where a simple lay off to a player in space would have created a clear opportunity, rather than running into a crowd. I think that awareness will come with experience. We are permitted differences of opinion I think we massively over complicate things in attack … today was better
Defence we are immense
It’s much the same at any club regarding management/players/mascot whatever. Look at the Stoke lot yesterday, even Arsenal supporters are the mardiest, expect to win,set of moaning twats ever. Human negativity is in so many people nowadays.Yep he did get it wrong. I think most managers do now and again. It’s almost like some people take great delight in us losing so that they can trot out the same old nonesense. ‘Wilder is shit, doesn’t know what he’s doing, watch him slink off out the back door.. etc etc etc’
He will still get things wrong, we will still play shit in some games and lose. It’s life.
Stopped reading when you said Moore is better than McBurnie.
When CW had little pressure on him he was fearless .
Maybe , like Hecky 2 seasons ago - he’s faced with having to get us back up at all costs - so he reacts much more defensively and irrationally .
Hecky sacrificed free flowing football from his first season into safety first football - not great to watch but did the job . Hecky was also much less emotional than CW and handled the ongoing circus brilliantly
Perhaps CW has this pressure too but isn’t as good at managing it , therefore we get the confused moaner?
Just a thought![]()
To be fair TO BrewsterTo be fair too Brewster as you well know he's coming back from a retched few years of injuries, so you I'm giving him time, unlike you it seems with your comment.
I very rarely have a scapegoat if you care to look at my previous posts, infact I often stick up for players. But one thing I don't like is lack of effort and I'm sorry but Moores effort in the last to games has been really poor.
Just out of interest how many chances do you give him we are on game 12 that's a quarter of the season he has 1 goal and he's our main Striker ?
Oh and sorry if I upset you with the comment about the Manager over at S6 please accept my sincere apologies and don't let it spoil your day.
Told him off?? Should’ve bought him a pint!![]()
