Personally, I wouldn't either.

I'm just not sure why you think those that do stop anyone making an atmosphere?, nor how that means I want to sanitise and ruin the atmosphere? :)

I never said those that do stop anyone making an atmosphere. My original quote was" kids do fuck all for an atmosphere" which is self explanatory.

Don't take the latter personally its a generalisation of what I see happening to football and the way its supported. I personally don't like all happy clappy. Football is passionate and tribal. " football isn't life or death. Its a lot more important than that" What's next for the ruination? All lining Bramall Lane the next time we play the wendys and clap them off the coaches????

I started going BDTBL 74/75 season aged 14 by myself, well with mates to be more accurate, but without parents. My "kids" go with me now. They're 26 and 23 and didn't start going until teenagers when they showed proper interest in SUFC. My daughter (blonde) is even proficient in the interpretation of offside. My point is that I personally would not take a kid to anywhere where they do not understand what' s going on and most of all be a pain in the arse to others. Call me old fashioned, but I was brought up that way.

Whats wrong with introducing your child slowly to the game of football, not all kids that dont really understand whats going on are a 'pain in the arse'. Are you trying to say that kids shouldnt start playing football if they dont whats going on. My daughter was proficient in the offside law by the age of 13 not that it makes any difference what sex they are. My Grandfather took my Dad, my Dad took me and Ive taken my daughter, no doubt my daughter will take her daughter at some point but I think we had better make sure she knows the offside rule before she sets foot in BDTBL dont you ?

I only ever take my lad when he's been good and when my brothers ST is going spare.

I've only ever had compliments from those around me about how well he sits.

Ordinarily Id say 4 was too young but he behaves and he's got something football wise. It may be me being blind as a parent but I used to coach 4 year olds and I (and other coaches) see a level of ball control, ability and enthusiasm for football in him that I've not seen in many of the other kids I coached at his age so I'm very keen to encourage him as much as I can.

Whooooooooooooosh and that's the sound of my tongue in cheek comment about a blonde girl getting the offside rule flying way over your head!

No it isn't its a game for everyone to enjoy. Entertainment. Its changed as have most of its supporters. I care about United, I always will but they aren't more important than most things in my life. Wife, kids, work etc. You can take things too seriously you know. :)

I think i do. I will even tell you if you want me to. Or you can trust me that I know without googling it.

Without putting todgers on tables I know my football well enough. I just think if you want to level the ruination of the peoples game at anyone's door it should be Scudamore and his type rather than blaming families. But I realise now that people like you and mentalblade think people taking children to the game are without knowlege or soul.

No I think my comment went over your head 4 is too young to understand the offside rule, 13 isnt if you read my post . I think we had better wait till shes 13 before we take her, what do you think !!

More assumptions from the family man, I don't know where anyone said families are ruining football but yeah lets get all personal because a post about unruly children upsets Mr family man, well BOO HOOOO
I bet the sun shines out of your kids arseholes, I don't suppose your kids ever had a snotty nose either. Just goes to show your IQ is smaller than your shoe size.

D0 I really have to say this. Young sprogs, on their first visit to God's Own, must find it rather daunting. let them take it in, bit by bit, with stories of what was, and what might be. It was far easier when they were put to the railings and allowed to stand together. IMO No child confined to a seat will be content for 90 minutes. Does your child sit still at home for so long? IMO Bring back the standing areas. Until then, please be patient with the Blades of the future.

I have absolutely no problem with kids of any age at football, that's why I posted in this thread in the first place.

Personally, I'd only bring them once they were old enough to begin to understand what was going on (not the intricacies, or all the rules). That doesn't mean I'm impatient with those that don't.
