Hey up fellas!

Just wondering where everybody was stopping in at on route to Colchester. Our group including myself aren't too fond of this away outing and are looking for a decent ale house in reasonable distance from the place on route?

Would be nice to still have a bit of an atmosphere with fellow Blades around so would be good to get a few ideas of where others are going?

Feel free to message me.

It's a ground that could have been designed by a Temperance Union. Last time I went I got tanked up in the back of a van on the way there.

A couple of years ago it was possible to park near the station and get a bus to the ground. I was planning on going but the game got called off. There was a local landlord on here who happened to be a blades fan.

I hope that's still the vase as that's my plan, get the train down, few beers then get the bus over to the ground

It's in the middle of fields of nothingness, so it's either drink at the ground (they open a bar in the home end before kick-off and allow both sets of fans to drink outside the stand) or drink further away.

We've also been to the Rovers Tye, off Ipswich Road a couple of times. It's a Flaming Grill pub, but generally has a few real ales on and is quite nice inside.

Let us know how you get on, we're hoping to go to the league match, can't make the cup game, I'm singing.

Is the blade landlord reading this? wish I could remember the name of the pub.

Likewise, going to both games hopefully (definitely the Cup game anyway) so will advise of any decent drinkers, going with a Col U supporting mate so will find neutral or away friendly places!

Cheers for the replies and suggestions fellas. I've have been to the ground but am hopefully looking for something different this time as ended up lumbered in ground last time early doors and it bored the hell out of us.

Thinking of a stop off point on route and was hoping others might have something similar planned.
