this has hit me like an absolute ton of bricks. even more so seeing the pictures of him and his daughter, absolutely heart breaking.

he epitomised what this club stands for, and always gave it absolutely everything. not just a battler though, he was a damn good footballer, as his goals against Norwich and Swansea attest to. one of my all time favourite players. agree with some posts above, a minutes silence doesn't seem enough. let's honour and celebrate his memory and then go and win this league for him.

RIP starman

Watching back on his best goals, he often ran back to the touchline to celebrate with the substitutes and the managerial staff. He really loved everything about this club.

I don’t agree with online sympathies and outpourings of grief but fuck me this is saddening.

This above all else is how he should be remembered. He loved us as much as we loved him
I never met him but I posted before towards end of last season I was walking in Eccy road co/op and a homeless guy sat in doorway - suddenly a hand came from inside shop and passed him a large Costa coffee cup and said here you go /no problem mate and trying to be as low key inconspicuous as possible. Then he went inside to do his shopping - that was George Baldock - said a lot about the man - he just didn’t walk past the guy in the doorway but wasn’t trying to be flashy either. but I think his performances for the Blades showed that too - always gave his all and real connection with the fans. Top man and condolences to all his family and friends

Such a shock, what a terrible tragedy for someone so young. Thoughts for his family and friends.
A much loved Blade.
RIP George 💔

George absolutely epitomised what Blades fans want from a player… talent, commitment, character and graft.
I was so delighted that he was set to finish his career with a fantastic move to Greece where they were beginning to really appreciate his talents at international level. It’s tragic to have lost him at such a young age and my absolute heartfelt condolences go out to his family.

So saddened by this dreadful news. Condolences to his family on the loss of a true Blade and top bloke! RIP Furious!

Feel like I’m not going to be able to sleep anytime soon. Just scrolling here and seeing the inevitable outpouring from ex-teammates which show how much he was loved. So sad. Truly gave his all for us, always. In the high times and the low ones too.
