A tragedy for us fans and the club but most of all for his young child who now has to grow up without a father.

As great as a footballer as he was he always seemed like a great person as well. Always was well liked by team mates and fans alike.

A devastating loss for the club and his family.

RIP Furious George 😢

Bloody hell. Never hid as a player and never gave less than 100%. Hugely underrated as well. We were lucky to have him.
Far more importantly though, a young man with a young family just starting out on a new, exciting chapter in his life, leaves far too soon. RIP and thank you

Jesus.

Per a previous poster, putting aside the Sheff Utd stuff for a moment...
This photo is what's its all about. A very young, intelligent, healthy man, gone too soon and a child without a Father.

Absolutely heartbreaking.

A legend of this football club who always gave his all. A fantastic character on & off the pitch.

Devastated and in total shock. Such a tremendous competitor, a lovely guy who played an integral part in our success. Made a massive difference coming back into the side to push us to promotion under Hecky - I know Ndiaye, Doyle & McAtee got most of the plaudits - but George helped to fucking drag us over the line. Feel so sorry for his wife and family, as well as every Blade.

Awful news. I can't get my head around this one and won't speculate or read speculation. He has to be hands down the fittest player (injuries aside), to ever play for this club. He always looked in peak physical condition. Shocking and sad news.

He’s a starrrrr MAN! 🎶

I can’t quite believe this. So so sad. Big tribute to this legend of the Lane coming soon from us fans.

❤️‍🩹

One Friday evening, around half past 4 I was at the lane picking up tickets to an away game, I forget which. I see George and Sander walking down the lane car park, maybe 100 yards infront of me. I shouted George, he turned around. I said my daughter would like a picture, he said sure no problem anytime. He and Sander had a picture took, and then George spent the next couple of mins talking as if he'd known me all his life, telling me they were doing media duties etc. A true class act.

This above all else is how he should be remembered. He loved us as much as we loved him

Honestly no idea how to switch off and go to bed after this shock. Just been watching videos of various promotion celebrations and that put a smile on my face. You could see they were SUCH tight group and have now all moved on to various clubs and futures but for one to not be here at all? Awful

Can’t watch the clips of him at the minute, absolutely distraught. What a legend who gave it his all. A pure athlete and a brilliant defender.

Always remember when we played MK Dons at home in League 1 and on the way home I said to my Dad I hope we sign their right back as he’d fit in perfect with us and the rest is history.

What an absolute tragedy for him and his family
Devastating and shocking news
Just watched his first Utd interview from 7 years ago, the wide eyed excited young man, and his exit interview, with so much love for everything Utd
RIP George, Blades legend 😢 💔

Unbelievable....what a shock.
Was only talking about him today......comparing Baldock to Bogle and Lowe
How Baldock was such a winner with a fantastic attitude......a really important part of put rise up the divisions
Where as Bogle had more talent going forward but can't defend but more importantly played for us like it was just a job for him.

Baldock has been on of our best full backs in decades
It wasn't so much about his quality.....it was that he played like he genuinely cared for the club and the fans. RIP George, never forgotten.

Tragic news, always gave his best for us, thinking of his young wife and family, RIP George

Just shattered by this. He was a fantastic player, always gave everything and you always felt he genuinely cared about the fans.

Remember a game from last season (I think) where in the huddle before kickoff you could hear snatches of his pep talk and he was urging the squad to listen to us cheering for them.

One of my favourite stories came from a friend at work. She'd been to the megastore and was trying to find the commemorative brick dedicated to a relative when Baldock walked past. Think she got his autograph and then the guy stood and helped her look for the brick.

Just a top bloke.
