On the contrary he needs as much game time as possible IMO. He appears to be 3rd in line at the moment behind Burrows and McCallum so I would rather have a fit and firing RND piling on the pressure. I'm sure the player and the medical staff no how hard he can push things so doubt his call-up wouldn't have been given due consideration.
I think he probably is still 2nd choice left back - he was off the bench instead of McCallum last night. McCallum I think is going to be utilised on the left of midfield to shut up that side (similar to what Sir Ben of Osborn used to do)...I think if (god forbid) Burrows picked up a knock, RND would be called upon first

An academy graduate making his way back after a significant long-term injury...

Great support for the lad.

Are you forgetting how good RND was before his injury?
He needs time and doesn’t need rushing back, presume that he’s back up for Anel on the LCB at least for now.

Barnsley away really exposed RND so he needs to be brought in steadily with support so he’s not isolated

Was nice to see him get some minutes

I’d like to see McCallum given more time to come in for Burrows and give him a break occasionally.

Was he really that good ? Perhaps he gets better as time passes ?

There were a number of reports linking him with a January move to the Prem before his injury and many were describing him as our best performing player at that time too.

It was a brief period, but he was excellent.

Looked strong and fit yesterday great to see him back

Be really interesting to see him start a few games. He looked rusty against Barnsley and hasn’t had much time since.

If he plays left back, it shouldn’t tax his hamstrings as much as wing back. And if he plays centre back we’ll get to see if he can play in a four.

Either way, if he’s anything like the athlete he was two years ago, he’ll be fine

Talking absolute nonsese me - thought McCallum was excellent throughout on Saturday and the (2nd) shirt is his for the forseeable :)

RND's a solid, defensive left back who has done well to get back to the level he has after his injury.

Not the type of player that the vultures will be circling over, always does a good job, plugs a couple of holes in the defence and is a good option to have in the squad.
