Weir's team, whatever you say about tactics etc, could have gained more points than they did, it wasn't as if we were well beaten week in week out. Even at Wolves, it was widely accepted that we were the better team until they scored. Given that Wolves are most people's choice as Champions elect, that shows that the team isn't as bad as the League table shows.

Agreed, Jim. We were not World beaters last season and if we'd have somehow got up via the playoffs, this season would have been embarrassing.

However, we've not just gone from a top-6 team to a load of crap. Weir knocked the guts out of us. He was as much entitled to compensation for the damage he's inflicted as Sharon Shoesmith. Now, we're like a patient in recuperation - a bit weak but, day-by-day, getting stronger.

There'll be a few setbacks along the way, but I'm trusting Dr. Clough will soon get the patient back on his feet!

(End of Holby City analogies!)
:)

I had a premonition, might be from the curry or maybe the handshake with Jim, we scrape the playoffs on goal difference, then get Wolves in the final, nobody gives us a chance, we score the winner in time added.

This medication works.

I’m at the same conference as a journo who interviewed Prince Abdullah recently. I was wondering what his personal impressions were and he said overwhelmingly positive. He said that he’s basically a nice guy. He met him at a London hotel with the Turkish advisor, Selahattin Baki. I wondered if the journo had any off-the-record dirt on HRH but he said no, none at all, he seems like a straight bloke, which came as something of a relief.
As has been said before he’s well into his fantasy football and NFL, and has a good knowledge of English football. He has entertained people like Fergie, Beckham and Morinhio at his place in LA and likes showing the pics. A lot of his worth is wrapped up in his property and his stake in the paper company but he is willing to commit around 20 million quid to get the Blades back into the PL. Obviously most of that would be spent in the Championship. Nothing new here, but the London-based journo with no love for the Blades thinks we’ve landed on our feet.
All I can say is McCabe deserves a lot of credit for managing to get this guy on board. He was sniffing around Leeds first, but McCabe somehow managed to persuade him that we were the better bet. Of course we could still blow it as we tend to do, and the Prince may end up cutting his losses and walking away, but I’m a lot more optimistic now. We need to treat him well and use his money wisely.

whoops posted this twice, blame the ale
