The kop

The expectations of our supporters have escalated considerably; there seems to be an overwhelming demand for us to dominate every match, and any deviation from this leads to calls for the manager's dismissal and disparagement of the players.

Even with the excitement of watching our promotion under Hecky, a significant number of fans departed before the players returned to celebrate. It’s crazy; as a Blade, opportunities for success are rare.

In my experience, the support from United fans was at its best during the Warnock and Wilder days (I’m too young to remember Bassett).

We’re at our best when we have that underdog mentality.

Absolutely embarrassing. Pathetic atmosphere first half. Don’t you dare try and have an opinion on the game if you’re in the crowd tonight, you are a disgrace.
So, who would you say are the main offenders for creating this “pathetic atmosphere.” The fans who turned out and saw very a lacklustre performance or the ones who just stayed at home? Add to this Swansea barely brought two bus fulls and added the square root of fuck all to the atmosphere of this less than appealing midweek atmosphere.

Surely our season ticket holders are the linchpin of our atmosphere with the part-timers just adding a bit extra when they bother to turn up?

The back of the Kop is where it all starts. If the lads at the back aren't feeling it then the whole ground suffers.

With great powder comes great responsibility.

Have a 👍 as well as a laugh.

Not midweek.

Done loads of travelling this week, and more tomorrow, then up for the Luton game on Saturday, so binned off a 200 mile round trip on a Wednesday night.

I'll use my ST at some point !!
Mate
This week bare in mind I live in derby right next to pride park.
I've been to hull then back , then Northampton and back , Walsall then back to derby then to sheffield where I left the Swansea game with 20 minutes left to get a train to hull at night where I am now .
I'm back Saturday in sheffield, watch the Luton game then back to derby to travel to Birmingham Sunday.
I know how you feel

All by train

I guess it depends on the quality of the powder.

German league is very loud, but it is orchestrated. They have a bloke at the front kind of conducting it. Not saying it's a bad thing, it creates loads of great noise. It isn't spontaneous in the same way as English football.
There is a blend of orchestrated and spontaneous. If the crowd generates a song the guy at the front's job is to notice that and the help out spread.

If the crowd are not generating anything and mumbling about substitutions, the guy at the front's job is to small them out of that and get them supporting their team.

You must have been bloody early for that train as it leaves at 21.57 and the game was all done by 21.40.

(I'm not stalking you but my son lives in Hull and travels by train, so these things are stuck in my memory bank) 🤣

It probably varies like most things, most places. I've only been to one recently, and he seemed to be conducting right through. Having said that they sang loud non stop start to finish.
That was the away fans and the home 'main' stand. Rest of the crowd was pretty quiet. Overall impact of the main home and away fans was good.
I want to go to Dortmund, and will be interesting to see what that is like outside of the wall.

A decent Premier League team would have excellent vocal support, but decades of disappointment and underachievement as well as finding unbelievable ways to fuck up will always be in the United fans psyche until it is changed on the pitch for a decent period of time.

Even today around about the 82nd minute mark I fully expected Luton to spoz a goal out of nowhere and then pile massive pressure on us for the last 10-12 minutes.

It's got to the point when even winning can't stir any confidence, because as soon as it does the rug is pulled from under us, particularly when the club that always finds a way to fuck up starts panicking.

Just let the pigs do all the mouthing, it's all there any good at. A lucky win for them today after being completely outplayed will now have them installed as world beaters in their own eyes. I'd rather our fans who have seen the worst happen and learn from it than a bunch of deluded twats who believe that nothing bad can ever happen to them.

South Stand was still far more vocal today.
I enjoyed my first league visit to the far end of the south stand, near the away fans.

Son was at work, so I moved my kop ST to there this once. Really enjoyed seeing the different angles of our shape, especially on defence. Very impressive. Noise was decent enough

Luton were fucking sat down though 🫤🤫

It's a far better atmosphere there, than it is in the KOP, in my opinion.

I only have this one game to go off and I disagree. Hardly anyone around me was singing. The noise was coming from the back. On the kip it’s the same but usually a few times people at the front are joining in.

Not going to argue thoughts I’m not bothered. I enjoy BDTBL hugely and respect all our fans, whether they want to sing or not

Great day today. Most content I’ve felt leaving a game this season

Fair enough, as you say, we all have our opinions.
I just find the noise, the banging of the sheeting, the songs, the applause of the subs running down the touchline, is far better than the noise that comes from the kop.
We all see and hear things differently, so nobody can be right.

Glad you joined us thugs pal 🫡

An old fella sat behind me only ever referred to Souttar as “monster”. He was brilliant

“Go on monster” at the top of his voice
“Crush him monster”
“Squash him monster”
“Fucking flatten him monster”
“Brilliant monster”

All at a million decibels. Made me chuckle every time

Do the concessions kiosks have a 2 for 1 deal on when the game is in progress? I honestly can’t believe mass exodus of people who consistently get up and head for the concourses at 3:35…Even when we’re playing well. I find it really bizarre
