Five clean sheets in a row

Only 3 goals conceded after 8 games. That's remarkable. The Souttar/Anel pair still hasn't conceded a goal.

Also happy for Cooper. 5 clean sheets, hasn't lost a game yet. He couldn't have wished for a better start to his United career.

Scorers over the season will spread out. Our two big centre half's will chip in along time way .
Wilder came into a side last season shipping 8 goals at home , 5 , 5 , 5 , 5
We've moved dead wood on and brought new players in of quality especially midfield and were a new team in progress.
We haven't lost , we've only conceded 3 goals , we've lost arblaster . Young academy lads are looking class so what's the problem ?
Wilder addressed a defence conceding so many goals .

We did not play well at all tonight but credit to them for once again, defending well and keeping the ball out of the back of the net.
Souttar wins everything in the air but I thought Anel and Burrows were both superb tonight.

I think it's a bit harsh to say we did not play well at all.

Brooks probably should have had 2, Moore probably should have buried his chance but was maybe a tad unlucky. Anel could have scored from a free header.

We also got into some good positions again but were a bit wasteful (like when Brooks overhit his pass out for a goal kick).

Thought it was a deserved victory despite having less of the ball.

At some point we're going to have a day where everyone is on it in the final third and we'll give someone a good pasting.

Also how often does the ball hit the underside of the bar and come out? You see those go in a fair bit too.

It finished 1-0. Could have been 4-1 on another day.

We did not play well first half * you mean.

Second half we split them open a few times. A few amazing saves and hitting the bar and post.

Wilder got his first choice centre halves that he wanted. He got his first choice goalkeeper he wanted and left back.

Right back Gilchrist wasn’t the top of his list as we went for Hoever and we were forced into selling Bogle.

But it’s not really cooncidence Wilder gets his first choice players on 4 out of 5 positions and we look amazing in that area of the pitch.

Now we need to do the same again in midfield and attack.

If Cooper, Anel and Souttar all play 40 games we'll concede about 35 overall

Might need a record low number of goals scored for a top 2 spot

But I do recommend that we start scoring more goals. Because remember, more goal = more good

Unless something financially changes I don’t think we will score more goals. There is no new owner it seems.

If we magically find funds for players in January we have to question why it wasn’t given in the summer when it was desperately needed.

If we're in a good position in Jan he'll find something

No apart from a few moments, I thought we were poor. We had no control of the game at all. Happy with the result of course.

We undoubtedly had the better chances but we were very lucky to go in 1-0 up at half time, had a ten minute spell where we should have scored at least another and then spent the rest of the half defending our lead. We had no control of the game at all but defended really well and to be fair, Cooper actually had few saves to make.

A fantastic achievement - the defence has looked so solid. In my opinion Souttar can take a lot of credit for this. It must be the longest run.if clean sheets since Nigel Clough's time in charge?

More than I can say to be fair...

Must have missed the saves?

They had one shot on target all game which was the cross shot that he comfortably dealt with and parried?

Whilst we missed 5 big chances?

You must have watched a different game.

I must have.
You’ve misquoted me anyway.

It's an incredible run, especially as 4 of the back 5 joined this summer and didn't even have pre season to gel together.

I also think we look a lot more assured at the back without JLT, though he's a good back up if needed.

Agree we had no control over midfield....Swansea totally dominated the centre circle.
but once we went 1-0 up the game was effectively over.
At no point in the 2nd half did Swansea look like they could score. It's bizarre that last year we had one of our worse defence in decades and a year later (early days yet) we might just have our best defence in decades.

In the Kop we were saying in the 2nd half that we look so comfortable defending against this toothless Swansea side that surely we must win.
When they had corners or free kicks swung in....you never felt concerned because with giants like Souttar, Anel and Moore we'll rarely concede from a set piece. A few agreed but commented that you can just imagine Swansea scoring from their only chance.

Our defence was busy last night but yet again our goalie had very little to do.
I remember 1 half decent save from Cooper in the 2nd half but it was a save that all goalies should save.

I think we're quite similar to the Hecky promotion season right now - well organised, solid at the back and have one player with the X-factor. Under Hecky it was Ndiaye, this season it's Hamer. However, I do think there's a couple of candidates who could step up in JRS and O'Hare.

Agreed. That's exactly how I'm feeling at the moment.

Arsenal won the premier league and before plus cups on 1-0 wins
Tottenham won at old Trafford 3-0 otherday but I bet they end up out the top 4 and trophyless

Yes and Campbell should have scored when he hit the bar
