It's Saudi Arabia, they only deal in mental money.

So mental they think Jordan Henderson is worth £200k a week!
I'm waiting for my offer from the Saudi's, I've pitched myself as a "football analyst" which mostly involves getting updates and info from this site, sky sports transfer news between scrolling through copious amounts of naked women too

That's not the original sauce. The person who originally mentioned it is a saudi media person with over 100k followers..

The saddo has probably been going through our squad on Wikipedia and noticed RND was born in Saudi. Then they’ve decided to make up a rumour for some interaction due to the link to their country.

This rumour looks to me like they're trying to pull him into the Saudi team but didn't realise he had the long term injury.

Already appeared and declared for Wales though hasn't he? Not sure he can switch now.

He had full caps for Wales before he'd played for our first team.

Well unless some bribery takes place with FIFA he can't switch as he has made too many appearances for Wales.

If we have an opportunity to take serious money for a player who probably won't be near the team until next year, we have to take it. It would be a huge bonus if it means we can fund another couple of signings. We could end up keeping Ndiaye while also making the sort of additional signings that we thought only Ndiaye's sale could fund

From RND's point of view it could be a once in a lifetime financial opportunity too

I won't dismiss this rumour because nothing regarding the Saudi league is off limits recently

When a signing is common knowledge do you claim to have broken it and have a saying along the lines of “Here we are” or something

Very happy if true as you’d assume that indicates he’s over his previous injury issues. Or at least we don’t see them as career-defining and have struck a deal that factors in remaining fit.

I know there’s mixed feelings about him on the forum and, to be fair, from the stoke and luton fans too, but I’m a big fan. Something about him that makes me think he’ll be a top champ / lower prem player, a la Matt Lowton. Great physicality, quicker than he looks, aggressive, decent technique. But mainly mentality. Wasn’t a super-gifted youngster but I like the fact he really improved himself over a couple of seasons through hard work. He would have gone to the World Cup if not for injuries.

He’s not quick or creative enough to be a long-term solution at LWB in a 5. But I think will be a really solid LCB in a 3, when we play it, and a quality LB in a 4. Against tougher opponents or tall teams, a back 4 of RND, Souttar, Ahmedhodzic and Gilchrist looks about as mean as you’ll get at this level.

Seems like really good news to me.

Plenty of talk he was finished which evidently isn't the case.

If fit, it opens the door to cash in on Trusty.

Robbo will start.

There will be pressure at time for Anel and Souttar to be a pair.

McCallum is good in the air so he could probably fill in if needed.

Souza can also fill in.

I would think we would treat RND with caution til January, see if his fitness holds together over an extended period and he can return to his previous levels. Then we could look at moving on Trusty.

Prefer RND at LCB
Are you meaning in a 4 or 3? If the latter then you’d think it was him or Jack. Slabhead in the middle and Anel/Gilchrist at RCB.
I’m not sure we’re going back to a three, although if Sousa goes then Arblaster, Hamer, and O’Hare is a better midfield 3 than last season.

A fully fit RND is far better than a back up!

He will start in front of Robbo with burrows on his left.
Tbh - if you have a fully fit RND I'd be tempted to play Burrows more attacking to accommodate him and JLT

With all the options we have why would you want to play a guy who is liable to make mistakes that look like a kid playing at times? That's 3 that have cost us goals since pre season started.

He’s shown nothing that his left foot is championship standard. Zero.

I would expect that RND return to fitness and his new contract will enable us to sell Trusty, hopefully Birmingham are interested

Been called up to the Wales squad apparently. Although I am sure he is delighted, do hope they look after him...

Really ill advised, in my opinion.
Likewise, Ireland flogging Egan to death.

RND would be wise to sit international duty out until he's a lot more confident in his fitness levels.
He still looked miles off it in his only 90 (Barnsley?) earlier in the season.

It would be great to see him get back to the levels he showed for us pre-injury, as he looked fantastic and had PL clubs watching him. Would certainly strengthen our left side options.

On the contrary he needs as much game time as possible IMO. He appears to be 3rd in line at the moment behind Burrows and McCallum so I would rather have a fit and firing RND piling on the pressure. I'm sure the player and the medical staff no how hard he can push things so doubt his call-up wouldn't have been given due consideration.

Good point, hadn't thought about that.

I know he played a couple of games for U21s, but he isn't likely to be suddenly be needed in the starting 11 but I hope he is physically fit enough to do so and this gives him (potentially) game time.
