Kieffer Moore…

He's come to the strikers graveyard, so what do people expect?
No matter how good our midfield is, a 6ft 5" forward automatically results in firing balls up to his head
No matter how fast a striker is our midfield fire balls up towards his head
No matter how small a striker is, our midfield fire balls up to his head.

The midfielders link up well with each other, they even link up well with wing backs and centre halves, but no matter who we've got in midfield they cannot link up with forwards, they refuse to see a forwards strengths and attributes and play to them.

Our wonderful academy hardly ever produces a good centre forward either, Calvert Lewin is the only one so far and he only got half decent after he left. Osula might come good now that he's left.

We'd actually be better playing without any forwards and just have extra midfielders because it's becoming quite obvious that they don't work at United
This is the same for most teams. That is why good strikers go for vast amounts of money - they are very rare.

He’s infuriating to watch at times.

Twice in 2 games he’s been clean through on goal and ballsed it up, not even having a shot in the end.

But then in the same game he’ll do something brilliant, like barging Liam Millar back to Preston yesterday.

I expected more of a goal threat. I’m sure it’ll come… but jury is definitely still out for me
CWAK need to keep him behind after training and make him practise shooting with his left foot

Seems we've got some fans that expected Kieffer Moore to be a world beater. If he could do it all to an elite level, we wouldn't have signed him for a relatively low fee this summer.

It's not like he's an unknown quantity - he's played against us loads of times let alone been on the TV loads of times.

Experience tells us that he's developed his game over the years, to be a good Championship striker. Also doing a fantastic job in Wales underdog side.

As I said on another post. I was talking to an Ull fan in the pub today. The only Blades player he mentioned was Moore. Wishing that he played for them.

I’m not particularly anti Keiffer Moore, prefer him to McBurnie for his work rate alone, just think he would be far more effective and a better player, if he showed greater awareness.
He could have provided gilt edged chances for others on Friday night, once when he tried to lob the keeper from the halfway line when he had two players available and another occasion when he ignored Brewster? in about half an acre of space on the right wing, turned the other way and ultimately lost the ball.
Incidents like that are ignored or forgotten, when we win 2-0, but they’re absolutely vital when it finishes 0-0.
Incidentally I thought his ‘great strength’ for the 2nd goal was a foul, pushed their player with both hands, not his shoulder, no VAR so 2-0 it is Up the Blades!
True ( apart from the fact that it was never a foul in a month of Sunday’s), but do you also see the number of great runs that he makes, only for nobody to provide him with the through ball? His team mates are just as guilty as him in that respect.
Six and two threes, and all that.
Main thing is, we’re winning matches, and usually playing with some style. Long may it continue.

He was on the verge of signing for them when Utd nipped in wasn’t we. They're still a bit salty about it

He’s a square peg in a round hole.

Needs wingers raining crosses in and he’d bag plenty but that’s not our game. He’s proved he can play as an old fashioned No9 so can’t knock him for that. Problem is old fashioned No9’s aren’t part of the modern game. Even Haagland has dribbling, passing and wide skills.

I think the, ‘Do you rate Moore?’ is perfect for sorting out football intelligence on here.

People can actually watch Moore play for 90 minutes and come to a conclusion that he’s a terrible player etc then you just don’t understand football.

He doesn’t have to be your favourite player or get his name on the back of your shirt. But the man has played excellent for us.

Maybe they don’t expect him to do anything with a through ball if they played it !! Even with a 5 yard start he didn’t get a shot away

Needs to hold the ball up/laybthe ball off with his chest rather than his head, needs to strike when near the edge of the box and alone (telegraphs the cut back onto his right foot).

Contributed defensively.

Works hard for 80 minutes though and allows for 3 terriers behind.
If the ball comes to him at head height how's he going to get his chest to it?

The only way he's an upgrade on McBurnie is that (so far) he's been available to play every week
Moore concedes a lot less fouls when the ball goes upto him, meaning we create more attacking opportunities and doesn’t allow the oppo to put pressure on our defenders via free kicks

Do think Oli had a bad rep and got fouls against harshly, but he did go up with arms flailing like a octopus fending off a school of piranhas

Warmed to Mcburnie in the end but he scored 26 goals in 146 games. Not scored for Las Palmas yet.

Was either injured/suspended and seemed to need 3 or 4 games to get going.

Gave fouls away consistently and always looked in danger of being sent off.

Kieffer Moore looks like an effective player who will be available more. Hope the fans stay with him.

Seems like every time it comes to the key decision he makes the wrong one. The one in the first half where he backheeled it expecting a runner should've just been a touch and shot from his left boot. His overall game I think was decent again. He won the ball a few times high up the pitch, his first touch is good, he makes some very tidy passes and knockdowns, but it's all going wrong when he gets within 25yds of the goal. I honestly rate the guy based on what I've seen from him so far. It'll come.

I thought that was his worst game for us tbh. I think Pokers first line above is bang on in that whenever it comes to a key decision he makes the wrong one. Starting to wonder if it was the wrong striker for the role. There was a few times today where balls were played to him that if he had pace he would have been in. Not his fault there, we just don't seem to be playing a way that you would imagine suits him.

All about opinions obviously but 2nd half from my POV he was excellent. Work rate off the scale some really good knock ons. So I totally disagree with you. Massive upgrade on McB he’s coming good - think he suits us completely.
