Don't we also need all the players, at whatever level, to be schooled in the same methods? That might be a problem.

It’s only really a problem if you work on the assumption that there are only two styles of play.
And that every manager chooses only one of those two styles of play and instructs his players to play that way for 90 minutes of every single match.
And that every player can only operate strictly within the instructions he’s been given and not deviate from one of the two styles of play throughout.

The reality is that there are thousands of different ways of playing the game.
Each and every manager can and should teach young players to play the game in many different ways.
Players can and should be able to adapt to circumstances and play the game in many different ways.

Are you saying that Morgan has been instructed to adopt certain methods by his boss(es) and he’s just ignoring that and doing his own thing?
If that was really the case, I suspect that he would already have lost his job.
How would you describe the style of football the U21’s have been playing under Morgan? Do they ever vary it?
How many times have you seen them play?
I presume you must have seen them often to make the judgement that Morgan is schooling players in the "wrong" methods and should therefore be sacked?

The U-21 results under Morgan suggest they play with very little style and about as much success.

At the better clubs, players at all levels are coached to play the right way (the professionals' expression - not mine) to ensure seamless transition between levels.

Surely you are aware of that?

Morgan has had mediocre results with the U21's so that suggests they "play with very little style". Weir had far worse results that Morgan has had with the U-21's so that suggests his teams play with even less style.

Ergo Morgan must be a better manager than Weir even on your criteria.

What's that about petards?

So you haven’t actually seen them play and don’t really know anything about what methods Morgan is employing.
That’s flimsy evidence on which to call a man a “useless c**t” and demand that he lose his livelihood.

I have moved on from Weir some time ago, as I have explained previously. Perhaps we should all do likewise?

Sheffield United matter to me, not particular managers, though I do have my preferences. I am not David Weir's agent; neither am I chairman of his appreciation society.

I shall be 100% behind Nigel Clough. I trust we all will be?

Why consider the most recent relevant example on our doorstep, that completely floored your argument, when you can regurgitate Swansea out of 92 choices, because it fits your argument.

And although he states he'll be 100% behind Clough who isn't actually here yet, he quite obviously doesn't show the same support for the current caretaker manager, who is here and trying his best to repair some of the damage done over the last few months. Called him the 'C' word a few days ago. Don't know if, verbally, there is any more emphatic way to show your lack of support for someone.

There is no argument. History has decided the issue in favour of proper football, by a landslide majority.

Straw man number 1030. Define proper football, because everyone wants it, and why Cox, Evans, Johnson don't play it. Stop arguing with the invisible man, and make a real argument.

Nobody, and I mean nobody, would be suggesting Morgan for manager, coach or anything else if he'd had exactly the same career, but at some other club.

Indeed. Playing a load of games as a tough no-nonsense centre-half at Barnsley and Sheffield United, with two seasons in the Premier League, is about as impressive as doing the same at Chesterfield, Millwall and Watford. Which is what Sean Dyche did - without the seasons in the top division that is. And with more seasons in the lower leagues. I imagine you wouldn't have been at all happy had you been a Watford fan when he was appointed.

I suggest we leave Pinchy in that huge hole he's managed to dig himself over the past few months
