Is such a deal an actual thing? I’ve heard a few people mention pay as you play contracts but would seem mental for a player to sign such a deal
Don't know, they used to be. Bit who is gonna give a big contract to someone who has missed 2 seasons of football with 2 serious injuries ?

Bit disappointed CW blaming players.. yes they should have done better, but isn't it the coaches/analyst's job to drill it into them and prepare them??

Wow....Chris Wilder shifting the blame and responsibility elsewhere....I'm fucking shocked.

I suppose it was the players fault he took off a striker and replaced him with a defensive midfielder as well?

Does anybody get the feeling that some of these out of contract players will be kept on based on a lack of funds or just in terms of bodies in the building. I'd like us to clear the decks start again build a new team. Im Ok with years in the Championship unless of course we have a change of owner who matches the fans ambitions. Anyone that doesn't want to be here see ya us fans don't pick and choose we are stuck with you as we chose you over other teams. I want players who want to be here be nice to have an owner who was the same. Interesting summer ahead although i know im going to be very underwhelmed it's the SUFC way.im torn as i want us to win every game but really don't want us in the Premier League yes i lack ambition so slight contradiction but i can't stomach another season like this.

Absolutely yes!!
Owner has pretty much confirmed he can’t find a buyer, so protected himself playing safe getting Wilder in: someone who knows the club, some of the players and can get a tune out them in the league below.
It’s basic protection of his asset which he hopes will be a championship club.

Perfect examples of how local journalists fail to take the opportunity to ask polite but searching questions in today's presser.

1. Wilder says he would like to have kept Oli McB and played him together with Moore.
So Chris , was your decision to go one up top a direct result of losing McB and having only one "tall" striker ?

2. Then Wilder talks at length about how crucial Moore is to the team.
So Chris , if Moore is ever unavailable , how do you replace him ?
Do you see Brewster or Campbell (when fit) as capable of doing the same job of lone striker or would you have to change shape and go two up top ?

Wilder doesn't take well to "non football people" questioning him. They all saw what happened to that lad from Leicester (Mcdonald? McCarthy?).

Best way to stay in his good books and potentially get early info is to keep it as vanilla as possible

I think a lot is said off camera too. Not watched the full one yet but remember at the last one it cut off as he was asking to turn the cameras/recording off.

Where can you see the pressers just been on Utd YouTube and it’s not there?

Worth a listen. Two minutes in and he's paraphrasing Oscar Wilde. Could be a belter this one.

The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about. —Oscar Wilde

But I think you need a membership package to view them.

Really good presser from Wilder today. Talked about the Anel situation but overall seemed really relaxed and happy. Said there is a really good feel amongst the group, which I think a lot of us are seeing this season.

Thought it was a bit dull and low key actually. Spoke well about Anel overall, but bar that nothing particularly interesting. Didn’t seem as upbeat as he has been, but maybe the transfer window adrenaline rush has subsided, and he probably doesn’t feel as though he has to prove himself after a decent/good start to the season.

Yeh , that's obviously how they see it , but it doesn't half get boring.

Woah don't go expecting too much.

Don't know if you saw his previous presser but he thanked the journos at the end for 'taking it easy on me' when he thought the cameras had stopped rolling. Think my last few shreds of respect for the local radio and rags went out the window at that stage.

If they're not prepared to ever upset the apple cart now and again they may as well not bother.
