Who should take our penalties?

Wasn't the best penalty, arguably should have had a second one as the ball was still in play when their defender pulled O'Hare down by his ankle.
It was a poor penalty but tbh when they replayed it it did look like Moore didn't get a clean strike on it.

True, didn't quite have the power in it.

Don't mind him taking them since he's a striker and I like seeing strikers step up to take penalties, it's not easy but hopefully he can bag the next one he takes.

When he was through towards the end and could have looked up and played someone in for a tap in he made the totally wrong choice. Our Bi;ly would have done better there than Moore.
Would he fuck. He’d have wanted the chance for himself, like all strikers.

The keeper was diving to his left as Moore made his run up, I couldn’t believe it when he put it the same way?

Mind you, I think that epitomised his whole game today, amongst a superb team performance, including the subs, Moore was awful and that is being polite. He needs some competition in January.

Wilder said Moore scored 9 of his last penalties so I can understand why he let him take it. But for some reason I knew he'd miss when he took the ball from Hamer, who I thought would take it and wanted to take it. O'Hare also used to take them for Coventry. I imagine Burrows would be pretty good too.

Burrows took them for Peterborough didn’t he? In terms of ball strike I’d say Burrows or Hamer

Completely different types of player, which some on here seem to be struggling to understand. Anyone writing him off after 4 games isn’t going to get taken seriously.
Not really writing him off mate. Maybe if we were whipping crosses in for him he might be more effective, but so far he's been disappointing.
I mentioned his limitations to a Forest supporting neighbour when they played Bournemouth in the play-off semis a couple of years ago.
I was underwhelmed when we bought him and sadly seen nothing to change my mind so far.

It was so obvious which side he was going to put the penalty.

Moore has a 7/10 record and Burrows has a 4/4 record.

Hamer has interestingly only taken one professional penalty in his career. Scored it.

I think that was actually hamer "guarding" the ball, fairly common recently for someone else to hold the ball and stand on the spot then the actual taker come and get it right before taking. Think it's meant to reduce pressure on the taker and/or throw the keeper off.

I'm not sure he'd be my first choice for striker to be honest.
So you’d have Brewster who’s about as handy as toothache or Campbell who did fuck all at Stoke ahead of him? Our strike ‘force’ won’t get 20 between them with Brewster getting 0.

Moore scored last 9…I prefer strikers taking them…everyone misses one at some point. (Except Le Tiss)

Stick with him…he will be practicing them now for sure.
Even Le Tissier missed one. Against Notts Forest. Mark Crossley saved it.

To be fair Moore has a terrific record from the spot, so it would be silly to over react after one miss. It was a poor penalty though imo.

Moore had the ball on the spot and was waiting for ages to take it - probably why the goalie worked out exactly where to dive - we don't seem to have anyone with the guile to send the goalie the wrong way at pens - Moore's starting position and run-up gave away where it was going - it was hit just inside the post but with insufficient power to beat a pre-warned goalie.
I know you shouldn't take your eye off the ball but the goalie went so early it's a pity Moore couldn't see his dive.

I was sat bang behind the goal from the way he shaped his body you could see straight away he was going that side. Keep just had to dive that side to get to it which he did

Yep, it's called 'telegraphing' message sent, keeper received it, thanks very much. Solution? Give it some power, even if keeper guesses correctly, no probs, balls in the net before he can get a hand to it. No Moore for me I'm afraid.

Post match Wilder said he'd scored 9/9 penalties. Not sure that binning him off because of that one is sensible.

Having seen Hamer practicing free kicks prior to the Norwich game and alternating to left and right just inside the post, I'd trust him to take them
