A lot of encouragement there for the new manager whoever that may be, on another day we could have easily got a couple more and Webster may have been sent off. Obviously there's still issues and we need to play like that for 90 minutes, but it's something. Nice for Taylor to break his duck, hopefully Hall stays as I think he looks a good player, McGinn has to start for me but with that and one or two good signings in January hopefully we can get a solid mid table finish then go for it from the off next year.

Having read that you wouldn't think we'd lost but I guess that's a representation of our current situation.

I didn't see any encouragement.1st half poor no creativity,no chances.2nd half 2 goals, taking it as luck at this moment.I'm loving your optimism though.

Yeah positive stuff.

It was the defence that lost us this one.

We tried to 'Pinchyise' it (play along the ground), scored two away from home, fought back, yep some positives.

I thought they were going to fold and lose 5 or 6 when we went 3 down. To be fair Morgan changed the game with McGinn and Taylor

Totally agree. First half was appaling. Cannot believe this is sheffield united. Tbh didnt see most of 2nd half due to family commitments but it was embarrising enough sitting throught the first.

I cant see any optimism for this side. We need a miricle if were gonna survive.

where has mcginn been?? did he shag weirs daughter or something?? turned the game imo
Agreed, I thought he looked good in that first game then barely got a kick. He seems to be able to put some good dead balls in too, certainly compared to others.

Was Baxter injured or had Morgan just seen that he was being slow and toss again.

I still think Brandy leaves a lot to be desired too.

The second half showed we can be more competitive than we have been which I'm pleased about. The first half was same old.

Agree about Brandy, can be exciting to watch at times but there never seems to be any end product. Surely our dominance after 60 minutes had more to do with them being 3-0 up and cruising rather than anything we produced. They nearly blew it at the end due to complacency and a shite wall at a free kick.

Can't see dropping to the bottom again can be anything but discouraging.

Mcginn was quality - should start next game. Deserved a draw...:)

pleased is a bit strong , encouraged , that a shower of shite can be transformed by 3 subs ,shows a way forwards possible , whatever formation we finished with , might be a clue to get out of the mess we are in

I'm far from pleased, that first half was a disgrace (yet again). Flynn and Doyle have blown it with me. I thought they were pathetic today. Flynn especially. Why should it take us to go 3-0 to finally show some passion and desire?

The only plus points for me were Taylor getting his goals (took them both very well), I thought McGinn looked decent and has to start for me, in place of Doyle. I also thought Brandy was the only one that looked completely up for it and wanted to make things happen for 90 mins.

The defence is the weak link in the squad, totally shit from start to finish in my opinion.

Maguire, Hill and Collins run like they are running in treacle, any striker or attacker with an ounce of pace can get past them.

I truly think that Brandy did well today. Trouble is, he's playing on his own in terms of attacking. I don't think anyone is on his level of thought. I guess that might mean he doesn't fit in and we need everyone to be on the same page, but it's a shame.

Never anyone on the overlap to help him when goes forward.

Westlake and Hill are still hovering round the half way line.

Brandy stood out for me, but only in the fact that he seemed to have some kind of work ethic. I know peeps don't like Hill but at least he don't hide. King NO, not at my club. Even on't sidelines Morgs looked like he couldn't give one or had one. However, the most telling indictment for me was when"Mickey" Doyler Doyle was asked about N. as Clough being fave for the job. His face said " I really could not give a fuck". Still, could be worse, could have had the sound on for the "match" Birtles?

No it didn't. Try making a post within making stuff up will you

We have to try giving him the ball in more advanced positions where he doesn't have too many opposition players to beat. He wastes too much energy starting his runs from deep. He didn't score before mid-November last season, but got seven after that, so let's hope he can repeat that.

yeah, let's hope the new manager sees this and tries to get the best out of him!

Obviously we were appalling first half, that wasn't what the pleased refereed to. McGinn and Coady offer far more than Doyle yet have been stuck on the bench for much of the season, makes no sense.

I thought McGinn did really well when he came on and looked good against Notts County too. Which begs the question why didn't Weir play him? I can only assume he had the gall to suggest it might be worth trying 4-4-2?

King is just a con man he puts in the very minimum of effort and we can't afford passengers in our position. Really pleased for Taylor, worked hard played like he wanted to win, hopefully his two goals have given him a much needed boost of confidence and he will go on to get a lot more.

It's difficult to be pleased with a 3-2 defeat, but there were signs of a bit of fighting spirit on show, which has to be encouraging, given recent lacklustre performances.

Yeah I'd agree with that. we did come within a whisker of making it 3-3.

If only the back four played like they did last year we'd make some progress.

Howard
MacMahon Collins Maguire Lappin
Hall Mcginn Doyle Brandy
Taylor Miller

Long Westlake McGinty Cuvelier Baxter Coady King

would be top half under a decent manager. Get rid of the rest get 2 full backs and a centre half and you have a base to slowly turn the club round and finish the season in early March, then start planning for the following season ,not a couple of weeks before the start of the new campaign.
Just need that decent manager ,Clough wouldn't be the end of the world for me ,Ferguson Di Matteo ,Pulis or O'neill would obviously be far more preferable and don't under estimate what a good job Sheff Utd could be to an ambitious manager. The one thing I do want is a manager ,not a coach.
