For me Cox is the ideal manager. Has succeeded at every level he has managed at and slowly worked his way up the ladder. You would think he would jump at the chance to manage SUFC, especially as we could at least double his wages.

The only barrier may be having to pay compo to Mansfield as well as Weir and Carsley...

Paul Cox turned around then had 2 promotions at Eastwood, then turned Mansfield around and took them into the League with another promotion. They re now riding high and in the race to overtake us.

Other alternatives were Rotherham's and Yeovil's managers. Because unlike Cough, they've demonstrated it, several times. If I'm being too ambitious by targeting Mansfield, Rotherham and Yeovil then my word, we're in trouble.

I’d just like us to get a man with some character, humour and ambition regardless of the style of football. That said, I really don’t want Pulis and his stupid cap; horrible man. Out of the “name” candidates in the betting, Roy Keane would be my choice - I think the job and location would suit him and he’d certainly shake things up.

I've got as much chance of getting the job as Morgan. He knows he is only filling in for one game. League position wise we are in a worse position than in the summer but financially we are much stronger. I don't think there will be a shortage of decent applicants.

I'd rather go with a guy who has earned his stripes at a lower level, than some showoff fancy pants international who has never achieved anything as a manager. Hiring a manager is just that, i don't see how being a good player is particularly relevant. You can know the game inside out, without being that good at it yourself. If you hire someone to manage a cleaning business, you wouldn't expect them to have won the international shithouse scrubber of the year award.

He has certainly beaten far more division 4 clubs this season than we have, and scored significantly more goals against them!

I didn't really know much about Cox but from google, his record seems quite impressive. Ok, he hasn't managed any higher than the 4th division but has done really well at Eastwood and Mansfield. 50% win ratio over 369 games is impressive. Someone higher will take a punt on him soon.
