Wilder

Seeing as only 0.0001% of fans wanted Wilder back, hopefully the new owners will have an idea of who will be an improvement after a few more games. I've read that Mark Robbins is the best manager in the Championship... Surely we should make him an offer? He'd probably love to manage a big club that has ambitions.
Wilder out performing him already this season 😂

I think if you read my original post it states i will pass a more robust verdict on him in a few weeks time once, as you state, players are more settled, and we have a bit more substance to critique.

People have every right to communicate there displeasure now, i believe there is lots still to work on myself but i also sympathise with the other side of the argument. When you factor in the quality of opposition though so far, then I’m definately feeling more concerned than trusting in his leadership.
Displeasure about what? We haven’t lost a league game yet what are people genuinely upset about? It’s bizarre.

I will be forever grateful for the league 1… 2 championship seasons and the first PL season under wilder … forever

But from the 2nd PL season onwards it’s been downhill … even away from the club he has had 0 success and been moved on pretty quickly

Am I missing something here and the start to the season was a Dallas style JR dream to me and we have actually been beat 4-0 in every game. We haven’t lost a game in the league and we are already reading drivel like this? Serious question what will genuinely make you happy? Would only winning 4-0 every week makes you happy? This is mad it truly is and smacks at people just waiting for anything to have a go at.

So you really think that every time a club loses to a team below them, the owners/board should drag the manager into a meeting to explain to them what their job is and who is paying them?
Didnt say that either! you do have a tendency to misinterpret

I would expect each player to sit down with a coach and go through the match, or as a collective to review the game for learning points

Likewise I would suspect after a cup upset on the back of 2 draws (one from 2-0 up at home) that the DoF or whoever sits down with the manager to chew over discussion points - this isnt unusual, and regular check-ins and debriefing is common place.

This would give CW an opportunity to point out where he needs help, players in, players out etc, as well as the DoF to ask questions re team selection, formation etc - its a 2 way chat

If in my job I lose something Im expected to win, my boss will be checking I did everything right, and seeing how the business can help so we win next time, in a results driven industry I hope this does happen, yes.

Who says this is not happening already ?

I have been saying for a few weeks now God help Wilder when we lose one . We have a brand new team playing a brand new system it will not happen overnight .

This was always going to be one of the problems with reappointing Wilder though. He has been grudgingly accepted back by some whereas there are others who won’t be happy until he’s gone. There is baggage, and he isn’t going to be cut much slack at all. This was all predictable and, indeed, was predicted.
What % were in each group, and what did the silent majority want?

I get what you're saying and it's fair enough. The tone of this thread was very much not "I expect a standard debrief to take place", which is why I've misinterpreted.

Precisely why a much much stronger team should've played last night. New players to bed in, old players have just experienced one of the worst seasons In living memory and aren't used to winning, large away following for which if they walk off that pitch after winning, get a great reception it should naturally build confidence. Seems fairly simple to me. Too late now though, time to forget it and on to Sunday we go. 5 wins out of 5 for watford so looks a tough test.

Wrong … I don’t mind losing it’s a part of life ! Either losing a game or losing a lead … shit happens

But there’s a way to lose … I can take losing if we can see a different style trying to be implemented or if we are on the front foot And get hit on the break or we can see progress….

I stand by my comment … we were mind numbingly boring to watch in the 2nd prem season (arguably towards the end of the first) … we are seeing a very similair pattern already … we make no runs in behind .. players are not encouraged to break the lines in favour of stop and pass football and we are insistent on tippy tappy football in the 18 yard box waiting for the perfect chance.

He’s was bombed out of Boro and contract not extended by Watford … I hope he comes good for us but I fear the worst

I voted the ship had sailed but got to give him a chance with new team might just come good and we are unbeaten in the league

A way to lose? Jeez we got beat with a team full of kids they didn’t do what was asked get over it. I can’t believe we have all this by losing with our academy team to Barnsley. We have looked good in long spells in the league but let’s not talk about that let’s talk about last night because it’s last night that counts. It’s going to be a long season

But we haven’t looked good for long spells … we’ve looked good for about 20 minutes usually at the start then we lose momentum and eventually all idea… I’m talking about the last 4 games not just last night and also the season before… this is a habit we have got in to…

Alarmingly even with new players we seem to be doing the same thing which makes me question the coaching …

I really do hope it clicks for us as that’s what matters the blades winning but I’m not sure it’s gonna be with Chrissy boy

You get these watershed moments don’t you . Massive clear out of players . Potential new owners . See some of the youth on the grass . Football club is like a combination lock . Get all the numbers in the right order and bang 💥 future is unlocked . Get it all right we laughing get just one wrong you’re fucked . Can’t stop thinking about Ferguson at Manure , class of 92 and all of that . Sometimes shit just lines up . Can’t win with kids 🧒 lol
Let’s just give it till crimbo before we start pointing finger ( or pork at home )

The real sign of low intelligence is not realising these players have to cover for our 1st eleven should we get injuries.
To be honest I was expecting us to sign like 3/4 more. I hope we right or the team has zero depth

My only critic of Wilder right now is his use of Moore this season. Not sure one against 3 center backs worked. Moore looked lost to be fair. He set up the penalty when he came from the left and also his great chance in the 2nd half. Against 2 CB's it is hard enough but 3, really Chris. I think against Hull and Derby we'll see a different Moore, more effective. Poor pre match planning by Chris and the team. We got away with it thanks to a great team effort. Maybe, Brewster to start alongside him and drop O'Hare next time we play against a big back 3. But what do I know!!

Lots of pashun at FT towards the south stand. Glad he's still got fire in his belly.
As much as he may get criticized, he does love our club. Right man for the job.

Although not nearly at the same level as ‘16-‘19, we are playing some good football. I loved seeing our midfielders feed Rak Sakyi with passes during build up play, it adds a new edge to our attack.

The twinkle in his eye is back, and I’m backing him. For now, at least.

I think he should make Blaster permanently captain, and either drop Moore or find a way to better utilize him. What way that may be, I don’t know.

Nice seeing the twinkle back in his eye though, looks like he’s up for it. UTB

It's all about realistic expectations and perspective. I think mid table is realistic with this squad. For me to be unhappy we'd have to fall below that. Seeing Anel at left centre back and Hamer on the wing again really brought that home yesterday. That was our starting eleven Brooks excepted😲. If we can stay in play off contention until January and bring 3-5 in to push us on that'd be an example of an amazing job by the coaching team. With our lack of transfers during the last few days going out of the league cup is probably a blessing in disguise.
