Their first team was marginally better (by an odd goal) that our experimental reserves. Nothing to see here.Tactically inept again.
Wilder is looking more and more like a lower league manager who makes teams that run abaht a bit, when they can't run abaht they are shit and no crate of Peroni's from the offie on the way home is going to put that right. Lower league bully manager who will throw players under the bus rather than admit his own shortcomings.
Very fair, more family/friends orientated than football which is how it should be tbf. Those two promotions were and will always be far more important to me personally than any cup win that United may have and that I may see. United could win the FA Cup and the European Cup next year, and they still wouldn't be the pinnacle of my United supporting days.
Reason being, I was young and believed all things were possible in those long gone days at the Feethams in Darlington in 1981, and Filbert Street at Leicester in 1990. Both grounds now gone, like some of my close family and friends who were with me on those days and are also now gone. The look of happiness on their faces on those days are etched in my mind and will be whenever I think about those days. An FA Cup win at Wembley would be bloody tremendous, but always tinged with a regret that some of those closest to me weren't there to see it, like they were back then.
So, when I say Darlington and Leicester will always be the pinnacle for me personally....then absolutely Yes, I mean it. Whatever competition it is, is irrelevant really. Its who you are with at the time to make and share those memories of those days that counts.
Which managers have picked their first eleven in this competition this season? Every manager changes it up and priorities the league, everyone loves it when we win anyway, loads of people cry when we lose.He is not happy with wank hybrid mess of a line-up that he chose to go with.
If he wanted to actually beat Barnsley he wouldn't have picked that line up in a month of sundays. That line up looked like he threw darts at names on a dartboard to pick the team.

So you weren't posting negatively before the interview? It's him kicking off and chucking the young lads under the bus for not winning.
Bizarre considering he usually wants out of the cups early doors.

He hasn't chucked them under a bus, he criticised the whole team for not playing with enough intensity or intent. We lost, he's a expected to say what went wrong, he gives his opinion.
Well I remember us beating Cardiff 5-1 to virtually guarantee promotion in 1971 and I was also at the Leicester game, I agree great memories, but that was then, this is now, tonight was character building,
It’s not the line up that’s a problem to meWhich managers have picked their first eleven in this competition this season? Every manager changes it up and priorities the league, everyone loves it when we win anyway, loads of people cry when we lose.
I read yesterday that on the news that Oasis had reformed someone claimed it was " the best day ever". It wasn't, in the same way yesterday's performance wasn't a disgrace. Our second string lost, after hitting the post twice and missing a sitter against a league 1 side. It was a poor watch and a poor performance with some disappointing individual performances. People were waxing lyrical after the Wrexham victory. This was a similar side. It was a poor performance and a bad result, it was far from a disgrace.Last night was a disgrace.
This, if the team are not performing and/or following his instructions he should deal with it as the manager. Instead he seems to go to the press and complain. His main job is to get the team up for it and stick to his plan, basic stuff for a manager.I can accept the defeat and the fine margins as others have said. Hit post etc. However he never accepts that he got it wrong. No intensity…. Inject some….. make changes, demonstrate leadership. He claimed players didn’t stick to the plan against QPR but again did nothing about it. Team selection has nothing to do with managing a team that is playing in front of you. His lack of subs is beyond baffling and if he does the same again in Sunday against a decent Watford side we will get beaten. I can hear the erms already !
Good one Chris, throw the youngsters under the bus.
It would be shut by the time he took to make up his mind and get there !So does Chris need to pop into the ticket office to check how many tickets we have sold before picking a team?
Darlington the whole day will never be bettered for me . Days like that happen once in a lifetimeThose two promotions were and will always be far more important to me personally than any cup win that United may have and that I may see. Good plan A. Other sides make changes at HT. No plan B?All well and good Wilder criticising the players but there is a pattern emerging that we are only decent in the first 30mins of games we didn't even have that last night. We struggled 2nd half at Preston, were woeful 2nd half v QPR and not really in the game after HT at Norwich. What he tells the players at HT god alone knows he certainly didn't motivate anyone with his HT team talk last night we were slow and sloppy all game until we made subs and penned Barnsley back in their own half. Why can't we do that from the off? No leaders on the pitch or in the management team standards shown last night were not good enough for Sheffield United. At the end of the day if they can't beat a poor League 1 Barnsley this lot have no chance of doing anything in the Championship, hopefully the new owners will not put up with this level of performance for long. Last night was a disgrace.
We didnt struggle second half at preston..they had 5/10 mins at start max where they were on top and had one half decent chance...Gus scored and we created (mainly via brooks) plenty of chances, one which Moore practically missed an open goal, we could easily have won that game 4/5-0. Played 3 league games with a squad thats been put together relatively late on, relax man, not the time to worry. All well and good Wilder criticising the players but there is a pattern emerging that we are only decent in the first 30mins of games we didn't even have that last night. Basically said the level is higher than some of them expected. This snowflake culture with some on here is so disappointing. It's him kicking off and chucking the young lads under the bus for not winning.
