Outgoing? Anel

Wilder wants a lean squad of around 24 players. That's 2 for every position, except GK & CF.

There's no way (and little point) in having 6 experienced CBs for 2 roles.
If we bring in a defender to replace Anel, any remaining cash would be better allocated to midfield and CF where we're relying on kids to be our options off the bench.
yes your probably right but defence is still our big problem robinson proved it once again saturday that even at a lower level hes still got mistakes in him if wilder continues with a back 4 he has to drop robinson and hes made it difficult for himself by making him captain think worrall is still his number 1 choice if anel goes

We need Souttar starting games in my view for his aggressive and aerial quality. As it stands the only way I can see this is Anel on the bench but I'm guessing Anel will be sold. I'd like a right back to come in too but maybe that will be Shackleton.

To get up and stay up you need to replace a lot of players that get you there, worral/anel/robbo no difference really but in the squad of a team that hasn't gone up or one that may Yo Yo, you'd take Worrall/Mephan all day long

That’s fine but neither Worral or Mephan are any guarantees you do get up, you could sign either for 4/5 million and still end up with same points total as you would playing Anel and JLT

If you are not going to loan and spend money then take a gamble on someone you think you won’t be needing to replace, if they are out there, if not then use a loan instead

You cant just not sign players in the champ cos they won't be good enough at prem level as you may end up a champ club with no players of your own

You can when you have similar to the ones you want to bring in already at the club

If you have loan spots still available then you can lessen the risk and take on loan if you do sell

He’s no more chance of playing at Burnley.

If he comes as Anel’s replacement he’ll be one of 4 Center backs plus Gilchrist a possible.

Burnley already have 8 so even if O’Shea leaves, there is still less space there than here.
Burnley have 8 CBs wow? I only can think of O'Shea 🤣

He’s the one I’m most comfortable with us losing.

Souttar steps in and Gilchrist becomes his backup.

We then really need a right back.

He had the worst attitude of the lot last season and stood out as particularly poor. Was happy for a fresh start and another chance but if someone has to be sold it’s Anel over Hamer, Blaster and Souza for me.

Wonder if the takeover is as close as is rumoured if we let anyone leave 🤷‍♂️

O'Rourke saying Wolves interest is genuine and will bid to "test resolve"

This will be Wolves' 7th consecutive season in the PL.
I guess they're what we're aspiring to be.

A similar sized club, stadium, history etc. but they hit the jackpot with owners willing to put the required money in and have hired decent managers.

We talk about Sheffield holding back our investment prospects, but has anyone ever been to Wolverhampton?

Anyway, re: Anel. It would be a good move for him.
I don't rate him at PL level and would gladly take the money. We should push for proper money though.
He's a good age and under a long-term contract. £18m would be a good figure and all the usual sell-on and add-ons.

One of the ones I wouldn't like Prince to scare off bidders by being stubborn.

We bought for 4 mill. Sell for 12-15 mill and move on

He hasn’t been good for a long while but I suspect if he’s in a side with a decent young manager who arnt getting pumped every week you’d see the best of him.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he did really well for a mid table side.

If it meant another 2/3 permanent young signings in the cooper / burrows model which would set us up for the future I could live with it. Or if it gives us the strength to knock back bids for other players also could accept it

Was gonna say, isn't his release around 18? I'd snap their hands off at 15

Yours was just the latest comment I saw on him.

It wasn’t meant as a dog at you, fella.

More curiousity why moving to a team with 7 senior centre backs even when one is tipped to leave, would be a good idea.
I just saw the report mate.
For me, hes not our player, he goes where he wants, and if Burnley offer him terms and a decent wage, good luck to him.

Did you watch Burrows get roasted on Saturday.

I’m hoping it was a Jack O’Connell first 5 games under wilder performance that he can put behind him as a one off.

He didn’t really have a proper pre season due to how long the move took, excuses I know but he obviously did something right last season to get the accolades he did
