It did wind me up a bit that he kept Coulibaly on and didn't bring on a decent CM for him to play with. I reckon his game would have looked even better if he didn't have to cover both positions.

Peck, ArBlaster, Brookes and Seriki have smashed it. Think Oné and Marsh are a work in progress
Yeah was a great finish from Marsh and good thinking to be there to hoover up the rebound, but was literally the only time I noticed him all game. Think there's bags of potential there though.

In his position he was impacted by Coulibaly literally missing every pass to him. He could do with going back to Donny and having a spell with Billy though.

He’s probably the one he was least decided about.

Give him a full match rather than a few
minutes here or there to at least give him a fair crack.

Whether it was nerves or not, it sounds like, as auditions go, he flunked it.

Is that it for him? Or is he a player of ability who just didn’t perform to his potential?

If it’s before the window, then he might just get the next League Cup game to prolong his stay, but for now it’s looking dicey.

Ideally he comes good. It’s not so easy to recruit someone who may end up being 4th pick midfielder so preferably someone from within makes that decision for you.

He definitly didn't look sharp, probably didn't help that his partner was having a stormer. It looked like the things he was trying to do were the decisions you wouldn't make later on in the season. I can imagine his confidence is pretty shot too so as you said it's likely he will need a few games before we can get a sense of what he can do but Peck definitly put himself ahead in the pecking order by a long way.

I think if we had some decent cover in midfield that we could trust i.e a fully fit tom Davies (never gonna happen) a league 1 loan to a Rotherham or somewhere would be best for him and then revisit in January similar to what we did with arblaster at port vale. But without us having that backup in midfield, he needs to stay here.

It's clear he should be playing regular football. Probably for us. If we want to keep him we might have to start playing him ASAP. That's very much how we managed to tie Osula down, and he's just fetched us up to 15m as a result

He was released by Arsenal. So he is no duckegg. They have an abundance of youngsters

We signed him for £150k did we not. Wilder sanctioned it himself before he walked out.

So wasn’t released

Really hope not. Evans brand of hoof ball not conducive to Pecks development. Also Harrison Neal went backwards getting splinters in his arse when he was on loan at Stevenage under Evans.

Seriki also didn't have a great time at Rotherham.

Whilst the midfield area is as light as it is, we shouldn't even be considering loaning Peck.

After that performance on Tues. I'd be wanting him on the bench with a view to him forcing his way into the side.
But if he did go on loan, has to be to a side that plays through the side.

Don't care what the opposition is, his calmness and ability to take ball under pressure and release/dictate will play out at nearly any level.

Very much reminds me of Coutts, albeit I think he's a fitter more able player too.

Maybe we do an Arblaster. Tell them he’s theirs until January and then bring him back for the run in, having played 20 odd games.

I’d be really tempted to keep him here though.

Tough call.

interesting decision on whether to send him out on loan or keep him here. I know everyone talks in absolutes on a fans forum but, either way, it’s not going to be the end of his career. I might even leave it up to what the player thinks is best for him.

Marginally (and assuming we don’t lost any other midfielders before the window shuts), I’m siding with sending him to league one until Xmas and see where he/we are at that point. He strikes me as having a personality and physique that would make him a stand-out performer / cult hero type of loan for a mid-table L1 side. That kind of experience can really accelerate development - eg blaster at Port Vale.

This also assumes he signs a new contract pronto. Otherwise I’d send him to the broom cupboard in the Copthorne for a couple of months.

I think we need him this season. Winning comfortably at home, 20 to go, need someone to just slow it down a little, keep the ball in midfield, can track back well and put a tackle in if needs be.
He looks perfect for that role and it rests Blaster or maybe Hamer/Souza for 20, or protects them if on a yellow.
I wouldn’t be loaning out.

Unless Wilder has a couple of very good experienced (key part) players lined up in the transfer window to cover midfield we should be keeping him this season.

If the plan is to let him go out on loan we should be waiting till we have cover in first.

Some player though. Needs a new contract ✒️

Peck is 100% competition for Arblaster, need to give him some championship minutes, the odd 20 here and there to see how he stacks up. But the lad has all the quality to play at the top.
I thought that too. Similar styles. get around the pitch, good short range passing, like to play the ball forward when they can and both have a physicality about there game and don't mind a tackle. To me they are both the type that plays at the side of a defensive midfield player like Souza.

Being suggested on Twitter he might be going to Rotherham on loan. Definitely needs a new contract if true. If he's playing every week he'll get some right attention.
