I've been joking to my Leeds mate all summer thst whenever he's said they'll win the league, I've told him they'll finish 4th

I might have been too generous

Conceding 6 goals in 2 games and you have Patrick Bamford up front. That’s hilarious

Brighton have just activated Rutter's release clause too 🔥
There was a story going round that release clauses cant be activated less than 21 days before the end of the window, thus ending Hamers release clause
If this is true regarding Rutter, maybe Hamers clause is still active 😕

When, not if, Rutter leaves then Gnoto will want out as well. His two mates leaving will see to that. If they refuse to sell him he will down tools and sulk. They’re in a bit of a mess!

If Farke gets the boot, then, by the pig obsessed logic of the Red Bull world, Röhl goes there?

Bogle may have made the wrong move

I sincerely hope so. Don't have anything against the lad personally, but the way he jumped ship like a rat thinking the SUFC ship was taking on water... let's hope he's just jumped to the equivalent of the Mary Rose leaving port and wanting to make a quick manoeuvre in the Solent with the gunports still open...

Mmmmm whilst its pleasing that Leeds have apparently lost 3 of their best players - they have had an income of around £80 million for them so clearly that gives them a massive boost of getting quality players in so lets not crow too much ! WAHL !

Leeds are going to have all the money and nowhere to spend it.

They’ll get away with it due to the quality of some of the opposition but they are effectively starting the season undercooked or at least going through an under cooked phase.

I think Deadbat wrote his excellent season write up a little while back, commenting how they have good depth.

You look at transfermarkt right now and they show just 20 players in their first team squad.

After Summerville left, Ritter has now had his release clause triggered, so when you then consider 3 of their remaining squad are goalkeepers, they will have just 16 outfield players.

It suddenly feels thin on the ground. Yes they will sign players, but when? And how long for them to gel? Plus who are these players? They lost out to us on O’Hare, Burrows, Rak-Sakyi to name but three allegedly. These players have now gone.

So, plenty of their chosen options have gone. Plus of course the Championship has a ceiling of which players will come.

I wish we were playing them next.

They also have an extremely large transfer deficit to service this year which is quite eye-watering for a Championship club. If they chuck money at their squad this season they really are going all in for glory or bust. In reality i think they would reinvest some obviously but they won't be spending silly money.

I wander if agents are telling their clients that Leeds is in transition and not as certain for promotion as the armchair pundits think. Not itk but Leeds are not picking up any bargains like we have.

They have a debt of double that that needs paying this season

Don't they have to go all in this year either way with no parachute money next season?

I'm happy with where Leeds are

Mid August still with a lot to do, in their naturally leaky defensive state which Bogle only exacerbates. That's why I wasn't arsed about losing him to them. If they're committed to him at RB that guarantees some weakness there all season

They're getting good fees though. This one for Rutter is inexplicable

I honestly think Leeds have been arrogant about their own standing, it’s almost like they’ve thought “we’re RB Leeds, we will just nip in last minute and strong arm everyone with cash”

You’ll only pick up certain type of players for that.

The £70million that needed to be found was for payments due to others based on how much per year they agreed to pay, unfortunately for them apart from gray they will now need to pay up in full for the other players, now the've sold them as i'm led to believe once you have sold a player all outstanding payments owed on said players have to be paid within 3 months, if this is true that £70million has sky rocketed.

Leeds, arrogant. Who knew? Oh wait....

They don’t have all the money, they’ve been forced into another fire sale to meet their outstanding obligations.

Think Villa in 18/19.
They’ve raised over a hundred million so far once Rutter goes.

Any indication how much they had to raise?

I’m not for a minute suggesting they’re sat on 100m.

My comment was more that they’re getting the cash in at the wrong time and when it comes to replacements plenty will have been taken.

I suspect Leeds will have been operating at a loss anyway even when in the Prem.
The money owed is now a millstone around the neck, but are fortunate that they can at least sell the necessary players to raise those funds.

Instead of being able to buy their way up, they may well now have to wheel and deal and shop for value.
