If Cooper read this thread and then watched Grbic’s performance last night he must be crapping himself. He’ll think that this amount of fan abuse for such a good performance, gulp!

Grbic pulled off 3 great saves, came 30 yards to rescue a one on one developing, punched clear several time. Gilchrist got him in trouble two times one he survived as it went wrong side of post other lead to their second when Couliby missed it and player wide left caught Gilchrist in no man’s land ball watching.

Easy to criticise and insult. I’m giving him a solid 8/10 and a slap on the back for a great performance

With it being you posting i read the last line as a SLAB on the back, thought stonings were for failed ITK’s

He didn't look decent at all.

Looked nervy, positional sense poor, no command for a big goalie at all, should have gathered when Gilchrist shielding, then lets a ball straight through is legs.

It was a relatively cheap punt in the sheme of things that has failed badly, pay him up - send him on - sure he's a decent lad but he isn't a good footballer.

He did a decent job.

Keepers get megged all the time, it's what happens when they try and make themselves as big as possible.

You're ignoring the 3 very good saves, the two times he rushed out to stop potential 1 on 1 situations.

He also punched away balls strongly into safe areas rather than flapping.

A solid performance overall if not coming into it with a preconceived bias.

It was definitely his best game for us. Too late though for him.

Grbic is shocking! Lacks communication and presence and got us in trouble a few times. He made a few saves you'd expect him to make! Quicker he's out of the club the better! Defenders don't trust him and every fan is on egg shells as soon as the ball goes anywhere near him.

Nobody is disputing any of that. It's the abuse while he's actually playing that is the issue. Folk need to grow up!

Yes we know this guy is a possible bomb scare ! But last night was solid rather than spectacular not defending him but he came into a no win situation,he wasn't playing regular and we've been on his back from game one , if he doesn't move let's try and give him time to become the keeper that our scouting team must have seen to advise signing him

Whats so difficult to understand about that? If the gold standard for goalkeepers is Wes, then we are in much worse position than we think.

He made the saves you expected him to make, just like Wes did all his career and cleared the area when needed by punching the ball away. Didn't really do much wrong all evening. Also showed he can play with his feet and sweep up.....which was the complete opposite to Wes. If Wes played, he would have still conceded the two goals they scored.

I am far from a fan of his, but if people cant give him credit for what was a pretty solid performance (given the opposition) then at this point its clearly personal and nothing to do with how he played.

I remember when John hope first signed the stick he got was worse than this mostly because he wasn't hodgy ,and back then there wasn't social media
Favourite shout was "no hope" hope and he turned into a brilliant No1 playing in the team that got us promoted to the old first division.

Got to take the praise and the criticism imo. If you want to earn thousands of pounds and play Infront of thousands of people you've got to be a strong character. If not Lidl have always got jobs going

There's a distinct difference in critism and jeering. Jeering should only be used for the opposition. Criticise players after the game if you must. How can jeering a player during game play be beneficial to him and the team?

Biggest bomb scare last night was Coulibaly, lost possession almost every time he received the ball, and I blame him for Wrexhams second goal not Grbic.
He allows the Wrexham player to bring the ball down unchallenged, step inside and be able to lay the pass off

Absolutely; and anyone who knows anything about goalkeeping - if you get megged at pace when trying to look "big" in goal, you're fortunate to keep them out. Nothing he could do about that at all.

The alternative is standing with ankles together and not being able to move in time to save anything other than a straight hit…and any keeper doing that would get pelters all day long. You will see a significant number of goals scored in at every level in every league every season through the keeper’s legs. Being critical of his faults is one thing but criticising that goal is simply an agenda.

There are different and more fundamental faults which he has shown, but not so much last night. I’ll criticise all day long when required, but he set himself correctly for that break and shot. As in other posts I have made, he has faults which are difficult to reconcile with a keeper with his apparent pedigree.

Agreed. Try doing a split step when your legs are closed ?

Basic goalkeeping to be able to spring off either foot in order to dive.

His biggest mistake last night was when he didn't come and take the ball when Gilchrist was holding off the attacker waiting for him to come and claim it. It resulted in their lad sticking a leg around Gilchrist and looping the ball just past the post with Grbic nowhere (it happened just before HT). Sloppy unconvincing goalkeeping which could easily have seen us go in 2-1 down at HT and changed the game. Basically could have lost us the tie when a decent confident keeper would have gobbled up the ball nonchalantly and taken away any danger.

He wasn't at fault for their second goal (Coulibaly most certainly was culpable for his weak challenge in the build up).

Poor keeper, needs moving on asap. I have no issue with those who call him such as he absolutely is. But...let's at least be fair and not nail him for everything, even when some clearly are not his fault. Lord knows, he's doesn't need any more adding to his catalogue of gaffes whilst he's been in our net.

Wasnt hopeless in 1971 apart from the Cup game at West Ham. He was very good until the defeat to Arsenal at the end of January 1972
