Pre-Match Press Conference:

I'm watching in on Sky plus.

First 10 minutes pretty even, not much attacking action from either side.
On 12 minutes we score a heavily deflected lucky goal from a good move.
After the goal we've totally dominated possession and are knocking it about really well.
We look confident with some nice one touch football, quite impressed with Arblaster sweeping up in defensive midfield.

Wow another great move, Callum O'Hare should have scored but think he tried a bit of showboating by walking it into the net
and he lost the ball right at the end of the move, so we didn't even have shot. Poor that, he should have tried to shoot while he had the chance.

Early days but so far we look clearly better than them, with a low confidence PNE sitting off us letting us have the ball.
You forget how poor the teams are in the Championship compared to the Premier League.
Even our defence looks really good, think PNE can only score from a set piece.

Sky commentator ‘look how hungry United are in the middle of the park’ 👍

O’Hare quality but should have passed when bursting into the box.

Souza put a couple of strong challenges in.

Gilchrist is rapid.

Comms issues bloody happen so many times over the years... makes my blood boil.
I've sent an email but not counting on a response any time soon
I wasnt going to resubscribe for the audio because of the issues in the past. Thought what the hell im at work and surely first game of the season it will be fine……..🤦🏻‍♂️

On the positive traveling fans sound great 🤪

Think it's shocking we have nothing on our shirt. In the absence of anyone willing to pay we should put a local charity on there or something

Very keen to see the body language / attitude of Anel , Souza & Hamer -
Will they play to their max or backpedal to avoid injury + get a move ?

What an embarrassing situation for Gbric , brought in for a fee to be our no.1 and yet he's obviously not shown enough to displace Davies who's barely managed a game or two in his all his time here.
Surely we have to move him on , but who's going to want him when he can't get picked here - mind you , we bought him when he wasn't getting picked.

Playing in a two is a big challenge for Anel & Robbo.
Can’t we just throw him with anyone else we sell?

Just had an email none-response from the club...

Hi.

Apologies. It’s an issue with the EFLs audio feed that they are looking into.

Kind Regards,

Marketing

I’ve lost count of the comms issues over the years… I’ve complained so many times but this paid-for service is so poor.

O'Hare takes too many touches on the ball. Needs to get his head up a bit more and release the ball earlier. We need to put a second one in before gassing out around the 70th minute as usual

Hamers had a stinker so far. Constantly giving the ball away. Brooks looks lively. Overall we’ve lacked quality and urgency in the final 3rd.

O'Hare looking great so far, Brooks very lively and getting in some dangerous crosses.

What I have really liked about Gilchrist is he's fast, but also always looking for the ball and wants to get involved.

Does Moore have a shiner or did I imagine that??

All in all a very good start, look much better the PNE. There have been a few misplaced passes, but you'd expect that from a new team with players needing time to get.

He traded an eye for a potato.

Good defending, putting bodies in front of the ball. Souza, Robbo both putting a shift in

I still can't get my head around the green kit. We look like running vegetables.

I don’t really see it as a lack of quality- more than it’s just not clicking just yet which is understandable for first game.
My God I feel sorry for Preston fans having to watch these lot week in week out! Proper agricultural footy!
