Club Captain this season??

He has some major technical limitations at elite level, but in terms of heart and commitment, and in making the most of what he has got, then he is second to none. He sets the bar in terms of attitude and application - if he can inspire others to match him in that respect, then we are in for a very good season.
I fully agree with all of that, if he’s actually in the starting 11.

True enough, and to be completely honest I hope that he is replaced as a regular starter before too long by others of better technical ability. However, the role and influence of Club captain extends well beyond the 90 minutes on the pitch, as witnessed by Billy’s wider influence during his tenure. He can set the standards in training, and call out deficiencies in the dressing room. He’s got the balls to do that.

A captain doesn’t have to be the most gifted player, but the one who sets the standards, gives a fuck and can lead by example -

John Terry (colleagues not wives)
Roy Keane
Tony Adams
Jordan Henderson

Robbo for me every day

One day blaster will take over, hopefully

Got to say, I disagree with him there. In comparison to years gone by, we sorely lack real leaders with real grit - Billy, Norwood, Didz, Baldock, Egan, McBurnie, Bash. Who amongst this lot sticks their chest out, and sticks up for the rest? Who of this lot rallies the troops, leads by example, demands an extra ounce of energy, when everyone is dead on their feet? I just don't see it...

I'd like to think that Wilder is a better judge of a football team captain than Keyboard Kozzy here, but what do i know.
