Wheelin and dealin is the name of the game.

We sell 1 to accumulate 2 or 3 first team players then it's a no brainer.

Not sure what we paid (if anything) to recruit Osula but it's gotta be a 1,000,000+% return on him.

If we did that for every player we would be rolling in riches.

He's only the next game away (as are all players) from getting a career changing injury and be worth bugger all.

Putting emotions aside, this is strategically the correct play to sell him.

If he goes for £10million we would sign the Goalkeeper Cooper for £3/4m and the rest to Prince Abdullah.
This is what you wrote. You are clearly insinuating he is pocketing the money- or you’d have said ‘the rest to running the club etc’.
Don’t get upset because you’re back-tracking.

They are going to be paying 10-15m for potential. I have a feeling when it clicks for him, Osula will be a very good player. I personally don't mind him going for that money thoug, as long as Wilder and the recruitment team get the money to spend and have some good signings lined up

I’m not sure selling one of your main attacking threats, when you don’t know yet what pool of players you will have left to choose from, and selling to bring in a few loans as well 😱

But fair enough if you think it’s a good move, can’t agree with everyone
I doubt very much Wilder would let him go unless he had even a couple of irons in the fire
not neccesarily west ham players with burns ,,, obviously

I think we need to make the sale and self fund the season after making a large amount of transfer mistakes last year. We we can sell Osulu and Souza for say 30 million and spend that on players like Cooper, Burrows etc who should have larger sell ons that is how our club should be run. Getting £15m for kind of academy player who has scored a few goals (I think he will have a good career) but is good business for us.

We need to move quickly now.

I’ve clearly stated it. You disagreed and went on your little rant.

Your options are you either agree with what I said initially £3/4m for Cooper and the rest to the club. Which would make your rant even stranger.

Or you disagree with what I said initially which would mean you think we would spend the money. 😂

You’re either incredibly stupid or on the wind up 😂.

You’re a tad boring now like I said at the start having to explain things so I won’t be replying to you on this comment again. If you feel the need to DM me again fire away.
Just to clarify what you’re saying here, as unlike you, I wouldn’t want to put words in anyone else’s mouth.
Are you saying we will sign Cooper and no other business will be done because the club will pocket the rest?

Yeah, I get it now. Bit of a silly post by me, I'll admit I listened to a 10 minute video about how transfers worked and thought I knew everything. Evidently not!
I was unnecessarily blunt in my initial post, apologies. In my defence, I was dealing with a half wit at the time so dashed it off in haste. I shouldn’t have, you’re one of the more thoughtful posters on here and I always value your contributions.

Of the five players signed so far, O’Hare and Burrows are anything but journeymen, Moore well perhaps but if so a very good one, and the other two not sure about but they’ve looked decent so far. All of them are improvements on what they’ve replaced. I don’t think anyone wants to spunk money on journeymen and I don’t think so far we have. Out of interest, which defenders would you sign?
Whilst we still have Anel, Trusty, Robinson, RND on the books, I'd much rather keep the 6ft athletic 20 year old striker with 10+ PL starts for experience and add more attacking talent around him...

The fact we've had 3 out of the last 5 years in the PL, have a year of parachute payments coming, yet for the second season in a row we're selling our best young attacker on the verge of the season is suicidal.

think the toon fan who said Osula wouldnt count as one of the 25 because hes only 20 is the best reason why Newcastle can take a punt was nearest the bull

Yes because we are not in a position to sign unproven players for thar money. But he would only need to score 10 goals this season to be worth double
You actually believe had he stayed and somehow managed to score 10 goals next season he'd be worth £30 million? Fuck me.

To be fair, and I like Osula, he has not produced any tangible results that we can look at and say 'We know that he will be a great player'. 2 league goals in his whole career. 15 million (depending on add ons) when we have a squad that has been gutted, and we still have players that want to leave like Anel and Vini Souza. It may look foolish in 10 years time, but if we can reinvest this money in the month we have left in the window, we can seriously push for promotion.
He's 20 for god's sake. Think it's Carlton Blade who I've seen give very detailed descriptions of what other strikers were doing at this age ...

Saying he hasn't scored after a year being thrown to the wolves in the worst PL in modern History and having Hecky pick OAP Sharp ahead of him the year before, really is ridiculous.

He's a phenomenal talent. Newcastle clearly think so.

Its like the Jebbison thread where most of the people on here were saying he was 'league one at best', yet Bournemouth snapped him up in no time.

Like I say, we get the club we deserve...

No back track. Please read the earlier post where I said the accountant said we need to raise £20million.

You’re on a witch hunt because you added a deeper meaning to what I wrote.

No need for an apology pal, I made a foolish statement about a topic I knew little about whilst thinking I was something of an expert. Trust me though, the sentiment is shared. I also do like your posts.

No the club needs to raise £20m for funding of the club. So I would imagine we will sign Cooper and some loans and the balance will go to Prince Abdullah / Club / Sheffield United Ltd. Whatever people wish to call it.

the fact hes scored only 1 in 20 odd games removes the best adjective in that sentence
more during the transfer window than verge of the season
Anel, Robinson, RND on the books didnt we go up as 2nd with these players

your ’earlier post’ came after the initial post I quoted and asked you the question about.
‘Witch hunt’ - get a grip man, it’s not that deep!

I’m the one getting notifications as your all tagging me in your posts 😂. I just want to talk about Osula.

Ok, so you’re going with only Cooper signed on a permanent contract?
Thanks for the clarification.

Again, I do like Osula. I really do, and I really wanted him to stay. But since we can't move the players that don't want to be here, namely Vini Souza and Anel Ahmedhodzic (and his delusional father), a cash injection will be nice, particularly if we can get Cooper and Worral, who I rate.

In 10 years time, I think Will Osula will be a good player, a very good one at that. I didn't particularly want the deal to go through, but seeing as it has, I'd like to see defensive reinforcements and a good new keeper.

Most people would call it exactly what it is. It would go to the club. Not the Prince.

A bit of a consensus seems to have built on your motives for stating it as you did.

Then you backtracked & also lied about what another poster had written.

No need to reply. You’re bang to rights.

We need to raise funds to keep the football club running. Supposedly £20m. I hope we spend more though for sure.

If we did that with every player, we would probably end up in the national league.
