If it is 10mil then we've got to bite the bullet and reinvest in what we need.

Bring Cooper in a CB and a couple of attackers and I'd be happy with that.*

Love the rawness of Osula and he could become a reyt player in time but you've got to look at he's not scored in 20 odd league games and not even looked close. He's not 18/19 either he's 21.

* We will only sign Jonathan Forte on a 6 month contract

It's pretty fucking simple - I wouldn't sell high ceiling first team players who are contracted long term whose value I cannot see depreciating in the next twelve months without a Godfather level offer on the table
So you just wouldn’t sell him end of

If we need to sell players to bring others in, I guess the decision comes down to who will have the biggest impact this season out of our saleable assets, who is open to a sale, and which ones are likely to achieve a bid that reflects our valuation or initial outlay. Essentially which sale offers us the most value overall and represents the lowest risk to performance next season. Regardless of what we all think as fans, it's likely there will be a thought process that takes into account things like this and a decision will be made whether we like it or not.

I don't get the outrage, they're managing a real football club, not a champ man team.

Yes the man who recommended most of the shit players we signed over the last couple of seasons, can imagine the Geordies in a couple of years saying what a load of garbage that Osula was from Sheff Utd. They had our pants down with that one " Liverpool style ".
Don't think it's the same person

This begs the question, what fees are we asking for Anel and Souza? Because I suspect if we got a bit more realistic, they could have been gone by now and there'd be no 'urgent' need to raise cash by selling someone like Osula

But 10-15m will never be a disaster for him, no matter what. He's had no impact at first team level for us and could go either way

We will be stronger this season for selling him, that seems certain. But it is a shame it's him we're having to sell. I was looking forward to watching him at championship level, but so be it
What if there isn't any interest, or we'd rather keep them because they're more important to us than a striker who has never scored a goal for us next season.

If it meant , Cooper , Worrall and A N Other coming in I would reluctantly sell , I would not sell if it was to cover costs I’d hopefully move someone else on .
As ever UTB !

Not right now, no, he is worth more to United in 24/25 than any offer we are likely to receive. Same as Ndiaye was at this stage last year
I agree with Ndiaye but that whole recruitment/pre season was ridiculous but sorry can’t put him anywhere close to that, for me if he has to go to build the squad so be it

£10m.
Not all upfront.
Window well underway.
Notoriously slow at getting signings over the line.
Aye
& that’s afore you factor in:-

Giant meteor on collision course with earth

Berres pork sandwiches cause impotency

Wearing brown shoes with a blue suit is now illegal

Killer snapper turtles spotted in Ladybower Reservoir - households advised to ensure toilet lid down at all times & keep an alligator in the bath

Is Paul Mitchell at Newcastle? Just read an article saying he was behind the deal? Presumably the same time one as here before?

Look at it another way.

Are we more likely to get to the play offs (or better) with osula starting 46 league matches or with (hopefully) Cooper starting 46 league matches.

Because I know which one I'd be more confident about and we can't have one without losing the other it seems.

Not saying its straight forward but should be selling Grbic, Anel, Coulibaly and Souza before selling players like Osula.

Just adds to the list of players we need in.
I know it's not a reason to keep him but always a big grin on the lads face unlike Jebbo not bashing Jebbo but love to see a happy i enjoy being here footballer i see the same with Hamer big grin it's infectious

Short-termism: Selling Osula, then using the money to sign Dummet types and loan players. If we get to the Premier League that way then a) great, b) what's Princes next move? More loans? The cycle of loans needs to be curbed and we need to invest the Osula money properly.

Long-termism: Fine, sell Osula if we have to but bring in replacements that have a re sale value. Curb the loans. Added to first team player(s) look for the next Onè, Peck (youngsters that cost a small fee).

Fear is that bringing Osula money in gives us the money to sign the loan players to get to the Premier League and also gives the Prince the money to run the club day to day which sounds good?
...But this then galvanises the Prince into thinking that maybe he can create his own financial great escape and give the Premier League one last shot which could end up being the most boring / embarrassing season again part deux

Yeah like we have bought quality additions with 120 mill

£10-15m feels like crazy money for a kid who's not scored a league goal.

If we had that money there's no chance we'd spend it on Osula so why would anyone turn it down?
If we were paying that for Osula, the people throwing their toys out of the pram now over selling him would still be doing it, saying what a waste of money.

Yes because we are not in a position to sign unproven players for thar money. But he would only need to score 10 goals this season to be worth double

If osula funds 3 players that’s good enough for me
So if it funds Cooper, the Newcastle defender and the Wolves right back, you'll be fine? You'll not question whether we could have bought them anyway, and you'll make peace with having Moore and Brewster as our forwards for 40 plus games.

Maybe these potential new owners can't move us forward anyway.
If they can't, which is appearing more and more likely. Why would the Prince talk to them anyway. Very strange times.

10 million is unlikely to fund the signings of 3/4/5 players at least not permanently the whole fee won’t be reinvested nor should it a decent chunk will need to be kept back to run the club and that’s sensible.

If it frees up fees to sign Cooper that’s a start cross everything he doesn’t get injured and if he doesn’t he’s an asset that’s likely to increase in value. But the club is going to have to get creative with whatever money is left after that yes loans might strengthen us a bit but at least some of this money needs to go on acquiring permanent assets that are ours and can hopefully increase in value because if there’s no takeover and no promotion we’ll be needing to sell again next year and we’re running low on playing assets.

We’ve had to raise a not insignificant amount of fees from sales this summer whilst ditching a lot of high earners off the books there’s no reason to think we might not need to raise similar funds next season. The players we’d be likely to sell in that scenario are obvious but we need to start acquiring assets now well really we needed to it last summer but were on the whole unsuccessful. If the takeover is stalling and the Prince staying and selling a high value asset would suggest it’s likely that he is then the short term thinking has to stop.

OR we use this 10m to get us to January by which the takeover will be sorted and hopefully we get owners that want to invest in Jan?
