30m for mctominay blimey just shows how stupid football transfers have become hes worth 20m at best
I also don't think he solves the issue Fulham now have of not having Palinha anymore. He's not a defensive enforcer, he's a box-to-box type. And judging by some of his recent performances for Scotland (Euro 2024 not included) make him look even more like an attacking threat, arriving late to pick up on loose balls etc. Not something Palinha typically did. So either they are changing their tactic somewhat, or they still need that anchorman at the base of midfield. So they could still go in for Vini.

There’s a reason some of the big clubs want to sign him, I think he’ll take the Championship by storm so he will, it’s such a piss weak league he will be a shining light.

Happy if we sell for big coin but also happy if he stays so I am, it’s win win really. If he’s sold we sign 3 top class championship players and piss the league, if he stays he will be the best midfielder in the league so he will and we’ll still storm the league.
I agree, so I do. I think he'll be a beast in this league. I know it comes down to his attitude but if he genuinely wants to, he can be top 5, probably top 3, midfielder in the league.

Genuine question. What exactly did he say that's pissed so many off? I missed it. er, so I did.

"Not because of me, but because of the situation at my club. I think that for the national team it’s a bit of a problem. That’s my opinion. But not in relation to my football. I think that for my football I could [get called up], I really could. But there’s the whole thing, you know. My team doesn’t keep the ball much either. That’s very important for the national team. So it’s going to weigh a bit. And the players who went can defend and have the ball, so they can stand out more."

Actually, taken out of the context and allowing for a heroic amount of self confidence on his part, he did have a point.

Thanks for that.

I really can't understand why the princesses are wetting their beds over that though. As others have just said, he does have a point (tap in for someone there). Are some people in denial over how abjectly shit we were last season? Makes you wonder.

Can see both sides to it, not nice to hear a player indirectly blame your club as the reason why he's basically playing shit and not getting in at national level. Same time i can see where he were coming from as you say because we were proper proper poor last season

Remember Wilders management of Paul Coutts when he came in? He was on transfer list, fans wanted him sold etc etc. We all know what happened next. This has similar vibes to it.

I was thinking similar.

The Christmas video showed that he could be a popular figure amongst the players

The Luton game showed he can run a game against lower opposition when he’s motivated to do so.

A season playing at a lower level, feeling happy and winning games might just get him back on track if he is not sold.

If the report that him and wilder have sorted things out then he could be invaluable as someone older and stronger next to Blaster.

I think this could be the case, there's definitely a player in there, however - foreign players/ their agents & the prince's pocket all want them to move once the right bid comes in.

Don't get how Souza is rated all of a sudden. He was a complete liability last season and a 20-year-old who played only half a season in League One before coming back put him on the bench.
I'm not sure many are saying he is, I think people are saying there's potential for him to come good in the right position and with the right coaching. He didnt suit last seasons system & at times his energy/effort levels were appauling. There were glimpses though that there's a player in there like Luton away.

Arblaster gets a lot of credit for what he's done since returning, nobody is denying that. But wouldnt it be good if we could get the best out of Souza and have him alongside Arblaster?

All of a sudden? His earlier games were great. He just went off the boil and, like a lot of the other players, couldn’t be arsed in the 2nd half of the season. If he stays, is happy and motivated he will be on of the best players in the league.

Not an opinion I agree with at all, but we all see things differently.

not a great fan of souza and certainly not his attitude last season but we have to remember if he stays he will be playing against vastly inferior midfielders in the championship than he was in the premier league and if were going 4231 he will be in the 2 with arblaster and that a very good pairing at this level that will give hamer o'hare and a new winger free licence to support moore ohare and hamer are going to be lethal playing higher up the pitch

He can head the ball and use both feet. Doesn't mind a tackle.
Positional sense needs a bit of work.
His habit of passing to the stewards could do with being eliminated from his game.

There's potential in there and being in a division where the team is uncompetitive certainly won't have helped mentally.
Maybe a few wins, head in the right place and we'll see him step up from last season.

Not sure which games you’re talking about? The only thing Souza was good at was passing it back to where it came from or playing a square pass. Dreadful in possession, not so bad in the tackle but not very aware of his surroundings is my assessment.

The extra time he’ll have in the Champ may help him and I hope it does if he stays but for the money being quoted he'd be the first out the door before Anel or Osula.

I've not forgotten or forgiven it's bad enough watching it what's worse is the friends work colleagues all laughing at you and all summer mumbling sheff utd when asked who you support and seeing wide grins.

Have we forgotten Souza was booed on to the pitch in his last couple of games. Very hard for a player to come back from that. He doesn't play really well early on things could get very toxic. He might make a player but if we get a good offer I would take it.

May i ask who your friends and colleagues support that are so much better?

He basically said what we all said last season but tended to shift the blame to all his team mates, just like many of used to do with Norwood (who was a great player for us)

Who gives a fuck what anyone else thinks? Should always be proud to be a Blade no matter what. I wouldn’t change it for the world.
