Goodbye, Rhian Brewster

The poor lad has been so unlucky with injuries in his spell with us, and to be honest, when he's played I can't recall him missing many chances, they've just not come his way. The goal at Blackburn shows he's got something, and I have my fingers crossed again for a lengthy spell in the side.

What a load of codswallop, the lad is shite and probably the worst transfer in the history of the club once you consider the transfer fee and wages.

You’re joking about this part in particular aren’t you? He’s scored 4 maybe 5 in over 40 appearances for the club. Hes hands down the worse signing (bang for buck) I think we’ve ever made. I’d rather we bought 23 million wispa bars than Brewster.

think its a no lose season for him this one majority of blades fans have given up on him so anything positive from him is a bonus
If he scores any goals at all and doesn't catch a career-ending injury it will be a good season for him

First season in Prem we were useless (no fans) and barely got the ball near our strikers. He had a couple of promising weeks in Championship but plagued by injuries.

He won the u17 world cup with England (golden boot winner). Smashed goals in for Liverpool youth and reserves. Liverpool poached him from Chelsea as a teenager. He is definitely not shit at football.

He’s definitely shit at men’s football. And that’s what counts.

EDIT: I guess having a good couple of weeks outta the few years he’s been here is good going though.

I can rarely agree with such sweeping statements.

Let's agree to disagree; about your opinion.

Aye. We’ll agree to disagree, however statistics and facts show my opinion to be somewhat accurate.
He's 24 though mate. Spent about 3 of the last 6 years injured.

IF he were to avoid injury problems for the next 6 years I think it's unlikely he doesn't have a pretty decent career in men's football.

I don't want to discuss it further! We're both willing to be the bigger man and admit that you're wrong.

Fully appreciate where you’re coming from. He’s injured all the time = not built for football.

In the time he’s played, he’s scored 5 goals in 77 appearances. Not bad if he’s a centre back.. he’s a striker. Every time he’s played, he’s had zero positional awareness, runs like he’s holding back (fully appreciate this, injuries etc). He cost us 23 million pounds. Pounds, not lira.. a goal return like such is nowhere near the outlay we’ve made. I’m not even including the wage he’ll be on there either. We’re paying a player, for 6/7 games a season, where he’s possibly looked a competent footballer for an hour or two maximum.

By this measure I’d have expected Ravel Morrison to be amazing. He wasn’t.

Really??????
5 goals in 77 outings for someone who was brought in specifically to score goals would suggest the opposite.

Your definition of shite must have a very low bar.
No one can give you an example of him being good in a Blades shirt, he’s had the odd fleeting moment of being a competent footballer in 3 and a bit seasons.

“There’s a player in there though” 🤣🤣🤣🤣

We know whats going to happen, assuming this is the last year of his contract. He will have a stormer then walk for free and another club will pay him big bucks

Id rather that than him carrying on his form of the last 4 years. Let's try and get something for the money we paid

He scored less than 1 in 2 at youth level.

His record for the England Under 21s is 18 games & 3 goals - which makes him worse than Nathan Delfouneso (who?), last seen playing for Hednesford Town.

For comparison, here are the appearances & goals of a few other players with a similar number of appearances:
Lampard 18 (9) from midfield,
Solanke 18 (9),
Bent 14 (9),
Berahino 12 (11),
Jeffers 16 (13)

The signs were there that he would be significantly worse than Francis Jeffers - or, in a word, shit.

Wonder what we do with him as he enters the last year of his contract.
Prince says he’s gonna do better now.
But he has his price…wonder if anyone would pay to take him off us. What? £2m??£4m???
Surely somebody might take a gamble.

Failing that do we offer him a new deal
With heavily incentivised appearance and
Goal bonus over wages.
If not, I see him disappearing down the leagues and retired by the time he’s 27

Released in a free at the end of the season. No way he will stay fit. I feel sorry for him in a way, nice lad, but has not been able to transition from u20 up to week in week out top level football.
