Again I'd agree with that, but I think we are at the start of something which could be a total change of ethos and way forward for United. I like the fact we are looking to buy good young technically able players, I like the fact we are looking at possession based style. I don't expect automatic promotion this season, and therefore I don't think giving the manager a lot longer is a problem before having to make a decision about his continued role at the club.
I don't think anyone would have a problem with the permanent signings made, both are good players who are better than our current level. We just need more to compliment them.

I don't buy this 'change of ethos' thing. History has shown that you don't get out of this division by playing pretty, passing football. I am not advocating hoof either, but very few goals are scored at the end of a 20-pass move.

By keeping a failing manager shows weak leadership, just because we have chopped and changed doesn't mean we should keep a shit manager who appears to have lost the dressing room already

Where's that come from? Being shit isn't necessarily because you've "lost the dressing room"

UTB

You can't just play football like Arsenal after 2 months at it. needs to be done in stages surely. Once we play football in the other teams half we can move it through the team.

You've claimed he is weak manager and lost the dressing room.

This is a line we've heard time and time again when fans want the manager changed.
Exactly what is this opinion based on?

you always appear to know better Bob, no change there

I just think it's when players who are on the pitch play rubbish, go out on the lash, basically take the mick out of those that support them and their lifestyle are somehow not responsible at all for the results; "lost the changing room" signals to me that there's a bunch of prima-donnas who think they should do what they want, when they want or they behave like children, and all of that, is the managers fault for losing them.

Players need to take responsibility too.

Bob you seem like you want to defend him ,what do you think his ethos is ,how we are playing ?

I am beginning to worry. Nothing is improving. I want to play a passing style of football but this isn't it. Its too ponderous, too negative and doesn't seem to encourage any flair.

Even arsenal get the ball forward quickly sometimes. When do we look like counter attacking teams. Everyone back at corners, therefore more bodies and more confusion in our box and zero chance of a counter attack makes no sense to me. What use are the likes of Brandy(when playing) Baxter and Cuvelier in our own box ?
How can we counter attack when it takes us 97 passes to get to the half way line ?. What's wrong with a player driving forward in midfield instead of passing back wards sideways then forward to get to the same position.

Its all too negative either the manager is not taking responsibility or the players aren't but we have got to be braver than this. At the moment it looks cowardly. Too scared to try and win a game and too scared of losing.

The team or the manager have to grow a pair and we have to start having a go at teams, get at them take players on, get in the f*cking box and lets have a go at winning instead of trying not to lose.

Fully agree with your last sentence. When you have players out on a Friday night who were in the team last saturday and your manager blaming the players on the Saturday what does that tell you?

Bob you seem like you want to defend him ,what do you think his ethos is ,how we are playing ?
I don't want to defend him, I just think the bandwagon is rolling and plenty are happy to pile on it and twist the knife mainly due to be being short sighted and wanting instant positive results.
I think there are some bad apples in the squad, I've been criticised for highlighting Porter before, however we don't have the quality options to replace them.
I think in particular a forward with decent movement and work rate would make an immediate difference to this side and the perceived style which would be seen as more effective if the right runs were being made in and around the box.

If true, that some of the players aren't taking their careers or the club seriously. Therefore the manager has a big job on his hands and needs replacements.

The players who are letting him down should be training with the stiffs. Bringing Porter in and out shows he doesn't have control for me. Players see mixed messages and then there are players who under perform every week who are untouchable

Presumably we're seeing the movement from the front man but these players not optioning to play that killer pass because it would be against the managers wishes?

OR

Is the movement not there, therefore there is no other option.

So change it

For fucks sake Wier can't or won't

Isn't that what is happening with certain players not being included in the match day squad?
Problem is we don't have the options to replace them with adequate talent, hence Ironside starting.

Porter has been dropped from the match day squad before and brought back (and now back out). A few players have. Fucking Williams will probably get the nod next week. In August Ironside was out of the first team squad all together.

Picking Doyle has his captain tops most of this though. COuldn't fight his way out of a paper bag, too weak willed

From the BBC Site

"Managerless Carlisle beat Sheffield United to claim their first League One win of the season"

That is how bad we are.

McCabe out.

Quite correct, he always seems to be short of a forward or two
How many windows has he had?
I'm sure we tried to sign at least one before the window shut and we will bring one in onloan once we'll get to keep them till Jan.

I have to admit, Bob's putting up a good fight in what appears to be a losing battle. More of a battle than the boys put up.

You go Bob!

Do you honestly think he should be given till January? Can I ask when enough is enough for you?

I think we'll know where we are once he's had chance to bring in replacements via the loan window.
If by the new year we are in the relegation zone and not playing better it would be a fairer time to judge his performaces.
