Patterson has looked good when I've seen him. But unless he's actually really, seriously good, I'd be very surprised if we're pursuing him.

Feels unnecessary to spend a fee that could well mean we don’t spend elsewhere, we’ve also recently bought a dud in that position and are throwing good money after bad. I understand the point but don’t think it’s ideal having no solution at GK level each year - Especially if you’ve the opportunity to sign a keeper for the next decade…

That said I’d have taken Rodak on a free if it meant signing another decent MF/CB or getting BBD back for example.

I’ll let people who’ve seen more than me argue between Cooper / Pattison if it comes off though (and assuming the outlay is similar)

Maybe we are using our 'interest' in Patterson to concentrate the minds of others who are connected with Cooper / Rushworth etc. If they suddenly think that they might be an danger of losing out on a deal and signing on fee (agent especially) then maybe the demanded wages and terms suddenly start to be negotiable and not so concrete. You don't buy a car by telling the car salesman that you are desperate for a particular car that they have in stock and won't have any other. Or if you did you would be stupid. Tell them that you are really interested but then there are a few others that you really like too with competitors, and they start being more flexible in prices.

Got to admit I agree with others, just can't see this happening, especially with much cheaper, (better?) options available. Could well be Jack Clarke, maybe T-Blade saw El-acuntos post and jumped to conclusions....?
