First? Doh! Anyway;

“Shows a lack of ambition to be honest. Sheff Utd will always be a yoyo club whereas we could go up and establish ourselves. i would be staying at City and pushing on”

I believe I have just found a supporter who is more delusional than the pigs! Is he honestly of the belief that Coventry are a bigger club than us? 😂😂
Al tell ya something they won the fa cup when I was 16 ....
We have won fuck all .
I'd swap absolutely everything to see us win the FA cup .....
I'd take 20 years in obscurity to have that 1 day at Wembley....
I'd take anyone thinking they are above us if we had won the FA CUP .....
I DREAM OF US WINNING THE FA CUP
ID ABSOLUTELY DONATE ONE OF KNACKERS TO CHARITY .......
STILL DREAMING........

They haven’t, they won the same minor cup Oxford did around that time.

No idea what player you will get with O'Hare.

Has been a good player . Great for the dressing room. But not very good in front of goal. Out for about 18 months injured after 2 injuries. Came back into the side and had suddenly found where the back of the net was. If this is the player you get he will be a joy to watch. We only got 3 months of this. Without his shooting boots on he will have you on your feet with excitement as much as he has you wondering how he missed when it was easier to score yet again.

It's quite simple for me. Get the player that improved massively while being out injured and manage to keep Hamer you should go up. Hard to guess when it is his most recent form but only for a few months.

I have a feeling we won't miss him. Rudoni looks a great signing already. Similar play to O'Hare even with a dead ball but about a foot taller. Had a dangerous game in Spain a few days ago. Lost Wright after 3 minutes from a dangerous tackle. O'Hare wouldn't have lasted 10 minutes. They bounced off Rudoni and he gave it them back. Just what we have been missing.

How much do you think you will offer us for Rudoni in a couple of years?

How long’s his contract?
We might wait until then & sign him for zero 😉

Oxford won the milk cup in 1986
3-O v qpr
April 20 1986
It was my15th birthday, I went with a few of my pals on a coach from Barnsley .
Coventry beat spurs a year later in the FA CUP FINAL 3-2
This was at a time when the fa cup was massively relevant....
So with the greatest respect it appears you ain't got a clue what you are talking about ...
Chances are I will be pushing up daisies and we still won't have won anything ...
That will be over 100 years of fucking winning fuck all
Like I say I'd take a dip into non league football in say 10 years if I could see us lift the FA CUP ...
At least it would seem like the last 50 years or so would have had some purpose...
We live in hope

Couldn't agree more.

We survived in the top flight for a very long time. Relegation battle after relegation battle. But only 3 sides had been in the top flight longer than us. Arsenal, Everton and Liverpool by just a couple of years. Meant nothing though.

The 87 FA Cup final? Will never be forgotten. Total underdogs against a side where about half played for England.

2 seasons ago we lost the playoff final on penalties. Last season we were in contention but the bad injuries kept coming. We gave up our chance in the league to give the cup our best effort. Saved our best players. Deservedly won at Wolves in the QF and everyone thought we had beat Man Utd in the SF. Will be remembered much longer than the constant promotions and relegations of the also ran clubs.

I agree with what you're saying, and I thought you were ripped off against man utd
However don't try & belittle Sheffield United .
We are a decent sized club who have been mismanaged and starved of success for generations .
I remember your cup win as it was at a time when it really mattered in the domestic game .
A great underdog episode .
I've seen us in every play off and every semifinal league & fa cup since 1989 ...
And we have failed in the lot ......
I'd take one day of glorious victory @ Wembley in the Fa cup Final ...
I'd be happy then
Tbf even the league cup final would suffice
Good luck next season (apart from the 2 games against us )
Ps , do you remember the cup game at the lane mid 90s 😃

I'm of an even older vintage that can remember much earlier 😆😁

Football is a funny old game. Most of the lows came when we were in the top flight for 30 odd years. Most of the highs came when we were at our lowest. When we ended up in League 2 we hadn’t finished in the top 6 of any division for nearly 50 years. Is certainly a world record. What a celebration. We finished 6th 🥳 Nearly celebrated finishing 6th as much as winning the playoffs.

Mismanaged and starved of success for generations? We couldn't even manage to finish 6th or higher for about half a century. Imagine knowing you're going to be in a relegation battle just about every year even after relegation.

Coincidentally met a group of Cov fans on Saturday in the Peak District. Thanked them for Fleck, Hamer and O’Hare.

They said that Hamer was the big loss but O’Hare was a loss as he’d played well for them. But it was clear he wanted to go.

Obviously i said if he can be half as good as Fleck has been and Hamer can consistently get through 90 mins we’ll do well with them

Nice lads to be fair and no arrogance like we’ve seen from those Cov View points

We are becoming a yo-yo club.

Coventry seem to be happy as a perennial mid table championship club.

Money from EPL visits has kept us afloat and yo-yoing.

Robins has kept Coventry afloat, but now he’s gone.

There are a handful of clubs who always seem to be top six material and SUFC is now one of them.
There are another handful of clubs destined for mid table. Coventry is one of them.
There are another handful of clubs destined to join SWFC in a battle to avoid relegation. Don’t be one of them.

I love O'Hares total commitment and non stop effort that has had a huge impact on our play. The lad never stops. Although he hasn't been on top form on the ball he will become a top player for us when his touch returns.
Some on here question why he get,s picked every week. Look at his stats and you will see why.
Love the lad.

Not just the pass through to Chinese Campbell, but his body shape in making sure the piggy defender expected a pass inside, which allowed the free run of Campbell, was crucial in beating our last opponents.

That, and is Derf points out above, his other stats, mean he's got credit in the bank in my opinion.

I think it's possible O'Hare can use his talents slightly more effectively. But he also works incredibly hard, which overrides him not having perfected his game. He has great talent and quite rare talents also.

I'm sure people watch too much Man City (/Prem) and expect every footballer to be near perfect. In reality Man City cherry pick from the cream of the worlds footballers.

The thing about that pass though, was 10 minutes later I fancied another one.

I don’t think he’s Chinese pal…

Back to O’Hare…

So far O’Hare is a mid table player. Not seeing enough from him to suggest that he’s the quality we hoped. He’s got a few assists and works hard in the press but we certainly need to see more of him in that number 10 role.
He is an asset. Given time he will improve, probably in a different type of number 10 role than we have seen before. Love his engine. He’s a lot like Osborn, but with untapped talents.

I think you’re right that he needs time, he started brightly enough but has dropped off massively.

Extremely worrying that you also see the Ozzy in him, but he’ll at least be further up the pitch when he’s out of position or gives the ball away.
