It wasn’t too long ago that when a player left the club he usually only ever left with people wishing good riddance. It is one huge thing now that when players leave they don’t leave under a cloud with the best wishes from everyone.
Richard Stearman probably won’t ever be remembered as one of the best defenders we have ever had, only as a player who played his part in our journey, tried to do whatever was needed of him when he was needed and to the best of his ability, and as a fantastic professional to have around the club, and he will always be fondly remembered for his role in what we achieved whilst we was here. That speaks volumes about him and his character, and I wish it all the very best.
