We are going to gamble on a player that apparently failed a medical first time around? Are we replacing crocked players with new crocked players?

From what I've read (mainly on here) players don't really 'fail a medical' its just a risk assessment as to whether we are happy to give them a contract.

I would imagine the only way they literally fail a medical is if they can't pass all the fitness tests without breaking down, in which case I bloody hope we are steering clear.

Having said that, Brewster etc must have been signed off for the £23m risk we took so let's hope whoever agreed that one is no longer in charge.

A few have speculated he failed a medical. I've no idea obviously but the deal seems to have taken a while from when first mentioned which was before the Shackleton deal but no mention of the signing until the Star today. Might be just a coincidence though that's its took a while
 
There's plenty more than the medical to sort out when it's a good player on a free ,lump sums ,payment timescales length of contract etc .

No confirmation on whether he actually failed it or not, just a rumour that no one confirmed or denied.

Seems to recall Van Nistlerooy failing his Man U medical and still signing at a later time as well.

Adds further weight to the theory Hall is being given good info in return for not publishing the names he knows involved in the deal. It makes a lot of sense given how long it’s been since the Star have been at the forefront of getting SUFC news early.

He did, it delayed the transfer by a few months, I think.

“Failed a medical” can mean something has been spotted for which the club want a specialist’s opinion to establish whether it might be a long term problem. That takes time. Not saying that’s the case here, but it happens.

Back to Tony Pritchett days I'd say when the headline was 'Blades sign international midfielder" only to read it was Paul Rogers who'd been capped by England C whilst at Sutton United! Cracking player in fairness!
 

Burrows and McCallum both left backs, or am I missing something?

Keeping track of the takeover thread has sent me into a warped reality, so I’m behind on everything else.
