Kyle 'Blade' Walker

Joe Cole is always named in full. Never "Joe". Never "Cole". Always "Joe Cole".

The same is true for David Silva, Ruel Fox, Roberto Carlos, Xabi Alonso, Yaya Toure and (to really push the boundaries) Papa Bouba Diop.
Connor Sammon, Ryan France, Lee Baxter .

When he came into the team it was very obvious he was going to the top. Instantly not only looked comfortable but stood out amongst a decent enough side at a young age. Still makes me sick how he was thrown in the naughton deal despite it being obvious he was the better player of the two.

Another moment of genius from Kevin McCabe.

We sold Kyle Naughton and I was fine with that. Then I read Walker was being thrown into the deal and I was a mixture of being furious and gutted.

Not sure Spurs were that fussed about signing Walker at the time either.

I am sure if we told them to fuck off, they would have still given us a decent amount for Naughton.

Christiano Ronaldo as well.

And maybe Brian Deane? He was never a Brian or a Deane. Deano to us though x

Going back a bit in the memory but I think the understanding at the time was we offered Walker to get the deal over the line. Think it was 10 mill for both ( meeting all add ons) with Walker being 2 million of that. I'm sure on of the reliable itk posters at the time said Naughton was desperate to go but Walker wanted to stay. Given walker came back on loan and attended alot of united games when he wasn't playing I'd say that could well be true. (Did we ever see Naughton again in the stands?)

He’s been the best right back in the world for some time now. It was a brief career with us, and this is very subjective, when you consider the trophies he’s won and the amount of years he’s been at the top of his game at the very elite level, in my opinion, Kyle is the best player to have ever pulled on a SU shirt.
Not the best player we've seen "IN" a United shirt, but certainly has achieved more than any other Blades player... definitely more than any other academy player.

He's the best player we've ever developed ,there isn't a argument.would love to see him one more time in a blades shirt .

Cesc Fabregas last night - "we could be talking about one of the best full backs to ever play the game."

I might be misremembering but wasn’t the full sentence something along the lines of “if he demonstrated a bit more composure in the opposition box then we could be talking about one of the best full backs to ever play the game”?

I'd had a beer. You might be remembering better. I just took what I wanted from it and told everyone Sheff Utd produce the best players in the world.

Yes, that's correct as to what that glove wearing pokey finger in the eye twat was rambling on about.

Spurs refused to go above £7m for Naughton and McCabe wanted £10m. Hence throwing in Walker to get to the magic £10m mark. Our Kev played a blinder there.

Never really thought about that. He must be the most decorated Blade of all time by a country mile. Good lad Kyle!

I've never heard that before, If that's true it's scandalous. Walker had only played about ten times that season so there was no need to sell. He was playing LWB I seem to recall too with Naughton at RWB.

Walker was right back since his league debut v Swansea. Naughton moved to left back. Remember the big penalty shout we had in the 2nd half of the 2009 play off final? Walker attacked from the right before he got tripped.

Oh, it was the other way round. Fair enough. Walker should never have been sold though after so little games.

have to agree silent we were right above the corner flag nailed on penalty we could have lost 4 - 0 that day but mike dean gave us nothing all afternoon

It was right in front of me and he was going down before he got touched

Couldn't disagree more mate.

Blackwell learned nothing from our two previous games against Burnley that season and Ward's petulance in particular was pathetic.

Never a penalty on Kyle imho seeing it from a very good angle.

We deserved nothing that day.

Vas Borbokis v Sunderland would be my choice. I think we all knew he was special within minutes of debut.
First time I saw vas was in the pre season friendly (was it Blackburn??) with him on the right and Wayne Quinn on the left with tiler Holdsworth and McGrath in the middle of the back 3. We were fucking brilliant!!

Love Kyle to bits but he's been utter dogger this tournament so far

The closest we’ve had recently has been Anel. He looked amazing the first game he played and I said to my dad “he’ll be gone soon”. Shame he downed tools last season and didn’t do himself any favours.
