Ndiaye 2024

Hecky also confirmed it at the time - before Christmas.

I’m not in anyway ITK but someone I know also corroborated the story so all in I reckon it did happen.

If it didn’t then that’s some major bull shit laying the ground work months in advance conspiracy kinda shite
If a contract was offered earlier then for a kid who played for Boreham Wood before us not to snap our hands off at a new contract whenever we offered it then we obviously lowballed until it was too late then we offer a great contract but it’s during the period where we’ve signed car crash footballers and Ndiaye sees the writing on the wall.

So the narrative now is not that we didn’t bother doing anything about getting him to sign a new contract but that the offers were pitiful.

How much were these offers, including the best one ever put on the table?

His desire to play for Marseille looks to be discounted and his move there and to Everton are now purely monetary decisions rather than OM wanting their money back after a disappointing season.

It really is easy to make things fit isn’t it?

Just proof missing.

One thing I could agree with the absent Pinchy on.....Couttsy was a Rolls Royce

The great words of Pinchy when we were signing Sharp last time round:

Far from it. I actually see beyond the wall at the end of the yard. Bladey Blades don't. Their constant 'solution' is to "Bringimback.." be it Warnock, Brown or whoever. There is a world beyond S2 and being a Blade doesn't improve your skills one jot. Why were people advocating Brian Deane for manager? Not a single person would have done so had he not played for us previously. Not a single one of Warnock's thousands of previous clubs would have him back and there is no clamour for him from their fans, yet here in parochial S2....

Sharp is not a target man. He's not even a goalscorer these days...We need a big mobile leader of the line to partner Matt Done who is likely to score prolifically next season. That's not Shatp is it?...but he's a Blade so that cures all ills...

Dear me, I do despair.....deep, deep despair....

He did spout some bollocks at times.

All about opinions football but he's the only person I've ever heard say (both on here and in person) that they hated the Bassett era.

The man hated an in prime John Fleck. Pinchy was off his tits mate.

We were doing well and still some of our players triggered him.

It’s pretty clear that we didn’t offer enough early enough and that by the time we did offer a suitable figure the door was open for Marseille to tempt him.

The fact that someone who we regarded highly enough to not want to play him before he signed a long term deal and then that deal didn’t include a year’s option on the clubs side is also baffling to me.

We offered him the biggest deal in our history, he initially agreed to it. The Prince (whatever people think of him) threw everything at the lad to keep him.

He didn't leave out of greed, he followed his heart. It backfired, Everton will now probably reap the rewards from this shitshow.

To little too late, he should have been tied down months before.

I’m boring myself repeating it now though.

Do you mean when we tried to negotiate with him but his agent refused to talk with us?
Make the offer compelling.

As I also said elsewhere, who signs a ‘wonder kid’ and doesn’t put a year extension in the clubs favour in?!

And if the agent and player don't agree to it then what?

You make it sound like getting a player to sign a new contract all the while having an absolute snake as an agent seem like a piece of piss. We had to freeze him out just to get him ( or most likely his agent ) to agree to his previous contract.

A kid from Boreham Wood wouldn’t have signed a contract with an option for an extra year at a Championship team just down from the PL?! Have we got Terry Robinson back on contract negotiations?

You can’t make any offer at all if the agent won’t sit down to negotiate

Imagine you’re playing for a middling French yo yo club. Let’s say someone like Troyes or St Etienne. You have no sort of strong connection to the area. You’re very highly rated although there’s been no interest from any elite club as you aren’t proven at the top level. Your wife would love to be closer to her family in Sheffield.

St Etienne desperately want to keep you & have been wanting you to sign a new contract even though you have almost 2 years left but your agent, who has done well for you so far & who you trust, has been telling you to not even consider it because there’s already interest building in you and if you carry on playing as you are your options could widen in an exciting way.

St Etienne eventually offer you a king’s ransom to stay. But Sheffield United who are hardly an elite club but play in Europe most seasons, offer you slightly less to go home. Slightly less, but it will still secure your family’s future in the place you & they want to be. What would you do?

Do you leave for Merseyside within a year then ?

Not quite sure what percentage of Sell on you guys have got.

Pal he's everything we haven't got, natural ability and guile on the ball.

Absolutely convinced you'd have won more points with him in the team last season, obviously you don't need me to tell you that.

Shambolic how to went into the season losing him and Berge
Shambolic runs through our club like a stick of Blackpool rock

Silly boy giving your bank details online. Check it I’ll guarantee that account is MT

Well I'm looking forward to seeing him in the Prem.

We always said that's where he belonged, personally would have preferred him at a better team but if I'm honest I think that's a bed of his own making he's lying in. He didn't take off at Marseille so now he's gotta work his way through. If he can.

Good luck to him.
