;)

Just a reflection of the apathy I feel for the supposed Promised Land. The comment about your relative 'size' was more a reflection that, IMO, Illi is good enough to play at the very top, as opposed to stagnating in midtable indifference. FWIW, Goodison is the nicer side of the park ;)
Very much so mate....After the nonsense we've been through of late, some self inflicted, some not so much I wondered whether it was all worth hassle.

Two things

1 Don’t play him as a winger. He’s not a winger

2 Please sell DCL asap
I've got a feeling he's coming in as a number 10.

All up in the air with Dom....Divides opinion amongst Evertonians. I'd love him to stay personally.

We just think we have a sell on clause for DCL.

Ndiaye is the real deal, he's got absolutely everything. Absolute steal at that price. I wish him all the luck in the world. I'll still wear my (fake) Ndiaye Senegal top occasionally.

So I kept my definitely real, definitely not of DHGate promotion celebration shirt with his name on it because i was okay with the whole "it's my dream move" shite.

Fuck the guy. Honestly

Him and his agent shaft us, then when it gets tough he just fucks off again.

Dream move my arse

Not quite sure what percentage of Sell on you guys have got.

Pal he's everything we haven't got, natural ability and guile on the ball.

Absolutely convinced you'd have won more points with him in the team last season, obviously you don't need me to tell you that.

Shambolic how to went into the season losing him and Berge

He's almost certainly been asked to leave Marseille, not agitated for the move.

He wanted to make himself a hero at Marseille - but unfortunately their owner isn't patient (or stable).

I'd love to be sympathetic but he knew the risks - playing time and a manager/owner he knew and trusted, with a chance of relegation, or that clusterfuck where you have a 50/50 chance of them hating you
He'll smash it at Everton but there's a massive part of me that doesn't want him to

This seems more realistic than him being the new Anelka, which some seem to be making him out to be.

Would you personally turn down a move to Blades just because it might not work out?

I think it would ultimately depend on the odds of success and whether or not it's what's best for me at that stage of my career.
I understand his heart made the decision but he needed to think it through, because he's now exactly where he would have been if he stayed - but now worth less

And now if I tell you this is your only chance to ever play for us? Take it or leave it. Need your answer in half an hour or we'll sign someone else.

GLTTL

Honestly. Looking at the utter cluster fuck of last season, and this current off-season seems headed in the same direction, why the hell would/should he stick around? Even the Bladeiest of McBladies would be certifiably insane to turn down other offers to stay here.

Build the side around him? We couldn't build a Duplo Lego Set.... Those saying he's taking the piss etc - look at us. Seriously, look at where we are from an infrastructure perspective, strategy perspective, squad development perspective.

Every performance indicator says we're fucked...

Was it his only chance though? That's where the thinking needed to come in. If he has a stellar season with us he could go to them a guaranteed starter they can build a team around

That was the biggest pile of horseshit in the whole sorry episode. Who believes that crap? I'm sure Ndiaye's agent didn't.

Also that was said about a week after United should have reported them to UEFA for tapping up. We should have done that, and then kept him for the Palace game. He would likely have gone anyway later but I suspect at a higher price, and we would have had at least one PL standard player in the side.

Fucking crap state of affairs.

We get promoted with a generational talent (by our standards), then can't keep hold of him, then proceed to get mercilessly pounded every week, only to watch him play for someone else in the PL, after we are relegated.

I can muster more enthusiasm to clean out the drains, than I can to support this fucking club of late.

I have to explain why my daughtes in a Senegal top all time.

Could forgive how he left although it hurt but this I can't. Hope he flops big time, just don't see him cutting it in prem and especially with Dyche ball and how Everton play

So what are you suggesting......offer N'Diaye £100K a week to try to persuade him to sign a new contract?

This is life as a football fan and applies to every club, apart from Real Madrid and possibly Barcelona.
You want your players to improve and become their best....but at some stage.....players start getting big ideas and think they'd outgrown their club.

You only need to look at Liverpool, they consistently can't keep hold of their better players.
So if Liverpool can't persuade players to sign new contracts...then what hope do we have.
However the trick is to re-invest the transfer fee and hopefully end up better.

We spent both the N'Diaye and Berge money but our buys have been poor of late, so we've ended up worse.

That's broadly the story we were told last year.
And you'd really be sweating such a decision.

All conjecture really isn't it.

I personally not going to harbour any ill will against an absolutely fantastic player that got us promoted. Especially as there's no way he only wanted to spend one season at Marseille.

I am not saying we could have prevented him going, or wholly blaming the club. Letting his contract run down like that was ridiculous but if he doesn't want to sign, what can you do? And we were hours away from keeping him.

My post was more around the fact that it's a really sad situation to get into. The club got shafted, but played a part in allowing that to happen too. And in the long term, it looks like another club is going to benefit from his talent, on the very stage we were all so desperate to see him play for us. Crap really.

My interest in the sport has been waning since lockdown anyway, and this is just another nail in the coffin.

No good luck to him from me. He and his dickhead agent can go fuck themselves with a pineapple for all I care now. He let Marseille and his scummy agent manipulate him when he had all but signed a new deal with us.

The cynic in me thinks this was all planned anyway, a quick stint at OM and then fuck off to the PL. We were just in the way and stopping his agent coining more money the longer he stayed with us.
