A new potential revenue stream? - the fanzone movement.

This should happen, its a no brainer now we have got the land behind the Kop. As has been said, its extra revenue for the club and crates a space for those that want to use it, such as families, and could be more accessible for fans with disabilities, as alternatives to the rammed local pubs. The non-match day revenue opportunities are there too, such as away game beam backs, hire for private parties and events etc.

For me, it would need to be a well priced and quality product, which unfortunately it probably wont be, but we should be looking to work with different local independent street food vendors, put on some unsigned Sheffield bands, have local craft beers on, screen the early kick off, have games for kids etc.
If it’s a “no brainer” our beloved club is suitably qualified.

The idea is reyt enough. But we all know the club would fuck it up.

No forward thinking people working behind the scenes at all. Just reactive to everything that happens around us at other clubs. See safe standing. We’ll do it eventually but we’ll be one of the last to.

The club showed a bit of willing with the Billy Sharp flag and then took it down a year later. 🤡

The Company I work for was approached by the club in 2019 (first season back in the PL under Wilder) to provide provisional plans & indicative costs for a match day fanzone situated behind the kop.

The proposal was to provide, bars, street food & live music before & after home games - this was duly provided but rejected by the club on the grounds of expense & then COVID came & the plans have never been reignited.

Shame.

Everton have a really good fanzone both seta of fans Very enjoyable and there fans were really pleasant if they can do it the nwe should be able to do similiar

I went to Anfield this season (not to watch us) and there were loads of these types of places behind some of the pubs / hotels near the ground, was fantastic.

Personally think it is a great idea and good luck to the person who is trying to work with the club.

I dont think it impacts massively on local businesses, wouldnt really impact on Compass that much as plenty would still do their own thing of normal pubs and head into the ground.

Can imagine it heaving before a big game, hearing singing as you walk up to the ground. Its not for everyone but for me i think it'd be good. It'd be like in a way going to the Green Man before a semi final.

Love the idea of having local independents there also, that'd be a really good approach to take.
