I’d still class it as a vanity project, it’s certainly not a sensible business decision! That’s not what you said though

Seen plenty of similar set ups in non league where a rich owner runs a club for a while. It never ends well. It's certainly a ego/vanity thing. It doesn’t have to be a vanity project even if it doesn’t make pure business sense
I don’t believe it is at Buxton.Seen plenty of similar set ups in non league where a rich owner runs a club for a while. It never ends well. It's certainly an ego/vanity thing.
I like Buxton as a place but full time? I’m not getting that bit.I don’t believe it is at Buxton.
Money laundering?!I don’t believe it is at Buxton.
Careful.....Money laundering?!
It was a jokeCareful.....
So Buxton are one league below the National League which every team bar a couple are full time pro. Many sides in Buxtons current league, the National League North, are full time with plenty of them ex football league teams....ie Scunthorpe, Hereford, Scarborough, Chester and Darlington.
Maybe Buxtons owner has de idea to give it a go for a couple of seasons and if it doesn't work out pull the plug. I can't imagine they will be paying the players a fortune so he's probably figured out what he prepared to lose and he's going to spend up to that
You're not including all the goals he's scored in training. Or the ones he scored while on loan at Juventus.Where are they getting he's scored 100 goals from? He's got 48 in 79 games?..
And meAlright Chaps..... Give it a couple of years and I might have a tough choice to make![]()
And me
Well, I’m gonna check ‘em out next season![]()
Surprised he never got a move to football league. Banging em in every season like Vardy did.Matlock Town are pleased to announce the signing of striker Diego DeGirolamo from Buxton FC.
Diego, who has played for the likes of Sheffield United and Chesterfield, joined Buxton in 2018 and has played a major part in their success, scoring 120 goals in 230 appearances for the Bucks.
The powerful centre forward will add a real threat to the Gladiators' front line for the 25/26 season.
Welcome to the Gladiators, Diego!
