Are we at the point yet where the parent steps in and says “now both say you’re sorry and shake hands”?
Still trying to pinpoint where this thread started to look more like Eastenders “you’re not my mother!” “Yes I am” (shows how long ago I watched it).
Back to the topic though…
Would I be right in saying we didn’t ought to owe much money now, in terms of servicing fees?
Brewster - we read 23.5m but wasn’t that even as low as 18m(ish) before add ons? We probably have 1 or 2 of him to pay if every 6 months.
Anel - still in contract but must be about a million for the year. Though a potential transfer casualty. How does that work? Does his fee still get spread even when he’s gone?
Then you have the other signings of the summer.
Archer - returns so you’d expect we could largely discount him.
Hamer - likely offset by incomings from
Ndiaye.
Souza - likely offset by incomings from Berge though also a potential transfer casualty.
Slimane, Trusty, Traore, Grbic - maybe around 12m over 4 years plus of course one or more could be transfer casualties.
It seems like we are lower on payments than in recent years plus of course there is potential to get the wage bill down a fair bit.
I’m resigned to the fact Baldock may leave. We’ve been bigging up Bogle recently who I understand has an option plus we have Curtis, Seriki and Sachdev all queued up. It makes little sense to have so many of the same position on the books. Surely one is expected to break through?
Then you have your Norwoods who are now eclipsed by Arblaster that you’d expect will move for more regular football.
Provided we sell who we intend then are things really so bad?
