If, as seems likely, Weir is the man, get on the phone to your old boss Moysey and get Nick Powell on loan for the season.

What? The bloke off Sky Sports - ex Goals On Sunday and Calendar? :)

I would imagine Powell would be loaned to The Championship or higher.

I see the gap between who we can conceivably get and who the fans think we should go after is still as wide as ever!

Blast from the past...remember this lad from Crewe where he was doing 'the biz' and got snapped up by Manure...just been released after a nice time in their reserves...be interesting where he ends up...

Edit: fill yer boots thread police...just searched the name so as not to start another thread ;)

He'd be a perfect replacement for Baxter, an energetic attacking midfielder.

His wages would be about 15k-20k per week so we should be able to afford him ahem cough cough ahem.

Forgotten about this one :)

40 appearances in 4 years, looked quality at Crewe. Don't think he could realistically get the kind of wages Danny is quoting above although he may well ask for them. Unattached so no fee but you do wonder why no-one has taken a chance on him in the last couple of seasons. Still only 22 mind.

Sitwell fancying Melanie sykes 3 years ago is more interesting than
any chance of signing Powell who has let his career drift Slew style
Another player ( young) who has put
money in front of playing and will probably regret it
