I think we are forgetting how much of a lower level league one is because we rose up to 9th rapidly. That was freakish. Even Harry Maguire took a while to get into the Hull side in the championship after leaving us and it was only a loan to Wigan that got him game time eventually
Wasnt that due to the managers son playing in the same position

Enjoyed that highlights reel, although found it a bit odd that they included him being stretchered off in the middle of it?!

FFS. How long have I been going on about this. This should have been done at the beginning of this season. It was bloody obvious that this was a talent we needed to keep, to nurture, encourage and integrate. But no! Mr adventurous re signed dads fucking arthritic injury prone expensive Jimmy and wild mouse Ben and sent Blaster out to learn how to be injured because young players according to the experts on here need “men’s football”.

Too long it would seem !

Arblaster seems to have had the most successful loan spell of that crop of the same age coming through. Hopefully that means he's got more of a chance here than the likes of Osula, Jebbison and Brooks.

It's that bit more special when they're local lads and Blades fans as well (same goes for Brooks).

Given the contract situations of a lot of the senior players I think quite a few of the youngsters might find their pathways clear next season.

Osula and Jebbo (if he signs a new deal) will both likely be starting or first option off the bench same for Blaster and Brooks

Always been a big fan of Arblaster, he’s heading for the top but as for Jebbison his loan was very successful, 9 goals in 23 games, better than 1 in 3 and he was just 18 years old.. He was recalled (wrongly) or his goal tally could have been a lot more.

Yeah that was maybe a bit unfair on Jebbo, I just don't recall seeing the same rave reviews from Burton fans. As Arblaster can't be judged on goal ratio I suppose it's difficult to say who had the better loan spell.

I wasn’t saying Jebbos loan was better just that it was very successful. Hopefully they both get to fulfill their promise but in a Blades shirt 👍

More than happy to see arblaster be incorporated into the squad if the coaching team think he's ready.

This vale loan has deffo been good for him.

Saw someone on twitter moaning that we are better than having him back amongst our squad. Completely forgetting the original reason for him being back with us is injury. And that he's been very good for port vale.

Whilst there is 3 divisions between us, sometimes it doesn't matter.

Kyle walker played 9 games for Northampton who were in L2 at the time. Then basically at the end of that season played a few matches and the play offs before being sold to spurs. Delle Alli was very good for mk Dons in L1 and also when signed for spurs went straight into the squad and shone.

Very true, I remember Hasselbaink couldn't praise him highly enough and was very disappointed with the last-minute recall.

I don’t know about Burton’s fans’ views of him but I watched him play for them a handful of times and it was very much what you’d expect from an 18 year old: quite raw, somewhat naive in his decision-making, but clearly possessed of the natural attributes to stand out as a very promising young player.

Strange one to say with Brooks, he's literally starting in every game

"It was short and sweet for Jebbison at Burton and he did everything that was asked of him. He is going to be some player."

"Nine goals in 25 appearances hardly tells the story. Try seven League goals in 10 starts."

You know I'd honestly almost forgotten he'd had a successful loan there. Thanks for sharing the link.

We needlessly recalled him and hampered his progress imo
