Reading on twitter last night, something appeared to have been said by him about/to Keith Edwards, anyone know what this was about?

"Not the result we wanted, need to lift it for the playoffs! Btw has Keith Edwards from the radio got twitter?? Need a word” that is what he tweeted and deleted.
 that is all i know!

Murphy was our key signing in January and for me he has disappointed.

He clearly has ability but I don't know if he's lost confidence, found it quicker and harder or what.

We desperately need a hero to step forward.

If he wants to ram some comments down Edwards' throat then he knows the best way to do that

Someone who listened to the radio said that Edwards hadn't even been harsh, but no specifics on what he did actually say.

Murphy deleted the tweet as he received some grief from people saying that Edwards knows what he's on about.

It's looking more like the players need to build an us v fans mentality. Someone should grab hold and tell them that instead of bickering at fans separately that they need to get to fucking show us what they are made of. Instead we get a leader who tells us we have not under achieved and that there are better teams than the most expensively paid one in the league. Doyle being one of the top earners

Doyle should just fuck off the useless cunt.

As for Murphy. Huge disapoinment that lad.
He needs to smarten himself up for the play offs.

I remember Edwards saying that Murphy was passing the buck and shirking responsibility by constantly cutting inside and playing the simple ball, rather than eyeing up his full back and saying "I'm taking you on". Edwards said nothing over the top that I can remember. He is probably right. Murphy definitely can play that role (though I'd rather see him up front) and maybe he should look to beat his man more often, particularly if he's playing in the same team as Flynn who is obviously more defence minded.

You are the expert on bickering to be fair.

I think Edwards commented that a lot of the players seemed to lack confidence. He also said that Murphy and (I think) Forte were very disappointing.

Someone further down from us got a disbelieving and frustrated stare for shouting "show some bollocks Murphy" near the end, I'd imagine that was part of his post-match mood.

The lad is a striker, he scored 11 goals for Motherwell in the first half of this season playing up top.

We sign him and somewhere along the line he's been rebranded as a bang average winger.

Play him up front with either Kitson or Porter and see how he gets on.

It's not exactly fair is it? A lad who's played in the SPL with reasonable success is suddenly expected to rescue us and replace our top scorer.

Watching him play for us it's clear he has good attributes but I'll only really form a judgement next season. It's tough joining a dysfunctional squad like ours.

we dont know where to play him, partly cos the teams a total shambles.

presumably he himself knows where he plays best (probably motherwell lol), wherever that is we will hopefully play him there permanently next season when we have *cough* signed lots of great new players!

i said at the time mccall must be right off murphs christmas card list for saying were an ambitious club, he must be sticking daggers into his voodoo doll right now.

Think they should play Murphy as a striker, reckon he might get more goals than our other options. Don't think he is particularly good as wide midfield/winger

Spot on! Murphy (as did Miller before him) played better as a more central striker so why play him in a wide position where he's not so good.
In a similar vein, you wouldn't want to play George Long as a sweeper would you?

Rather than backing him, I think Murphy deserves the criticism he is getting. I struggle to think of one decent game that he has had. He rarely seems to put a shift in, seems reluctant to try and beat a man, and a lot of the time seems to go missing, if anything he is like a carbon copy of Ryan Flynn.

He needs to buck his ideas up, and fast, and if the players want to get shirty with the fans then fucking let them. At the end of the day it is their poor performances, and the woeful recent form that is getting them the grief

Oooooh don't start the Flynn debate again...,
I'm with you, but others believe golden rays emenate from his posterior.

Murphy, I believe, is better and quicker than Flynn (i think I'm possibly quicker than Ryan) i just don't believe Murphy is a winger/wide midfielder - or happy in that position. Rightly or wrongly he doesn't seem to perform (or give his "all") on the wing. Conclusive proof that he is a natural striker; ie all round idle fooker!
I would like to see him played alongside Kitson or Porter tbh.

I've always been very disappointed in Murphy but strangely enough at Crewe, when he came on, he showed more pace and determination to go past defenders than I'd seen from him lately. Could possibly be the angle I was watching from on Tues (pitch level) as sometimes the game can appear totally different from watching in the 'Gods' at the Lane.

He offers something which others at the club don't, but harnessing his abilities to the best possible advantages seems to have escaped management at the moment.

Edwards called for Long to be dropped earlier in the season so I wouldn't have absolute faith in everything he says.

Doesn't it show where we are as a team though. Players brawling with fans and having to go back to make up after.

If they weren't so shite and underperformed on a weekly basis they wouldn't get the stick in the first place. There are people who would do what they do for free and it should be seen as a priviledge to play professional football and get paid for it.

They can always tear their contracts up and fuck off somewhere else, most of them won't be missed.

couldn't agree move i thought he was a striker and yet again we play players out of position and then the fans have a go.

Agreed. Murphy was bought as a forward so should be played there. To use a Len-ism, it's not rocket science!

As for Flynn, I've thought for a while that he would be a more effective full back than winger. His strengths are in his defensive work, and whatever faults fans have of him, his workrate isn't usually one of them. And with that he should be able to overlap a lot more that we've had this season at left back, and if he times runs right then his achilles heel of beating a man isn't going to be as much of an issue.

He may not have set the world alight but were you not at the match v Brentford. Brilliant assist from Murphy for Kitson's goal which possibly should have been the winner but then we all know the rest!!!!!!!!!!

He's been patchy, and certainly not set the world alight in the fashion we'd hoped, but there are enough encouraging signs that we have a decent player. He's much more direct than Flynn, more comfortable taking people on, and has more of an eye for goal in the type of stuff he tries when in possession.

Edwards often lingers on a point and so you do have to take what he says about individuals with a pinch of salt.

That said and I haven't seen Murphy play at all so can't comment on him as a player, but Edwards has been quite clear and Simple when he's made his point on the wingers:
1. Deliver the ball - they're wingers and that's what their job is. Put the ball where it can be attacked.
2. Beat the man -when they manage this they know that they have enough to get past the defender, so keep wanting the ball and keep having a go. Wingers will lose the ball but the biggest crime (in Edwards view) is not to have a go.

Fail to do either one of those and Edwards believes he is in his right to criticise and moan.

It's very simplistic but he has a point - football is simplistic.

If Murphy or any other player takes issue with Edwards, they need to look at their own performances first and decide whether they have been good enough
